JONESING FOR NICOTINE!!!

for 18 år siden 0 27 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
HELLO ALL, I made it through the night. Actually slept better than I had been. My cold is much better and I can breathe now. I really lost it last night. Surprised the heck out of me. Happened so quickly. I think the leading factor was that I was exhausted. I will try not to become too tired from now on as I think that may be a trigger for me. Thanks to all of you for being there for me. If not for you I think I would have caved last night. Now, on to day eight! Day eight! I love it!---Jada :)

Day Nine! And I feel fine!!! I'm on the watch for anything trying to sneak up on me, but for now I am enjoying this time of freedom and relief. I am ready to go for a walk, then have some lunch. The cold is not gone completely yet, but it is much better. I'm still looking forward to being able to smell and taste! Have a good one all. ibcnu later.---Jada--- :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/28/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 189 Amount Saved: $37.53 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 2 Mins: 22 Seconds: 57

I'm back all. I went running with my dog, then took a long hot soak in the tub. I do feel better. I am very tired. I hope to sleep well tonight. Thanks so much for your help. I will post again in the a.m. ---Jada My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/28/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 159 Amount Saved: $29.19 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 11 Seconds: 10

OKAY, I'm in trouble here. I feel like my head is going to explode! I am so short tempered, my last nerve is raw! My face fells tight and drawn. I keep clinching my teeth. I cannot seem to relax. My mind is racing and my whole body feels like pins and needles. And this is day seven! I was better than this yesterday. And the day before! I want a cigarette. Just one cigarette. But I know that one cigarette is too many. And a 1000 is not enough. This too shall pass... soon... THANKS EVERYBODY!!! Your words have helped me, because you are all right. I was just sitting here focusing on how badly I wanted a cigarette and what that felt like; how uncomfortable that was. I need to be quicker to recognize that and learn to distract myself. I need to focus more on my strengths and less on my weaknesses. I do want to be a nonsmoker. I CAN DO THIS. I will do it the same way 45 million people before me have done it. One step at a time. "Nic", I can't have you, but you can't have me either. I will win this battle. In time I will live a smokefree, jonesfree, nicotinefree life. I will "retrain" my mind. I have smoked for forty years! It won't leave me in one week. But I can wait it out. I have gone cold turkey, maybe I will end up trying warm chicken, if it doesn't get better soon. Whatever it takes... Thanks all, I greatly appreciate each and every one of you. Be blessed.---Jada My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/28/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 157 Amount Saved: $29.19 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 21 Mins: 52 Seconds: 30

Jada: I love it -- one's too many and a thousand's not enough. You're exactly right -- and that will never change, will it? Trust me -- giving in will only make things worse. We've been "trained" as smokers to believe we need the damn things to feel well. The only way to really feel well ultimately is to become the non-smoker you know you want to be and must be. The very fact that you're going through such hell means you're on the right path. Try walking and drinking water. I also found a wonderful "worry stone" which is very smooth and keeps my smoking hand busy. It's become like a "blanky" for me, but who cares? It feels good. Congratulate yourself for every single moment you take control. You CAN do this!

Jada, I hope you listened to Josie...actually it sounded so good, I might do it also... :) You sounded a little better your second post, but I recognized the the look on your face in the first post and your fingers just flying on the keyboard just getting your frustration out. We've been there, we've done that and we are so with you. Listen to all the advice, it's great advice. Focus on your reasons for quitting and don't let the physical and mental demon's take over your committment to your quit. They are crafty little sucker's. Recognize them as temporary, and this to shall pass. Post and let us know how your doing in the morning.... Congrats Jada on Day 8. Your doing great. Just take it one day at a time, and be ready with all of your coping mechanisms. That is really important. You have to fight fire with fire...well, not literally...LOL You know what I mean. Each day get's better and better. Pretty soon, you will be through Heck week! Jada -- it sucks for everyone; the difference is how we manage our tools. Are yours organized and accessible? Are they clean and ready to go? You know by Day 7 that this quit will not do itself; how can we help you make sure your tool box is filled with the things you need for youself? peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 36 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,842 Amount Saved: $198 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 10 Mins: 49 Seconds: 2
