I was wondering if someone could explain this tiredness that I feel all the time? Does anyone else feel sluggish, like you have no energy to do anything? Is this just a withdrawl symptom, and will it too go away with time? And is there anything I can do to help me get some energy? Thanks everyone, ~Valic My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 28 Amount Saved: $26.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 24 Seconds: 22

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I will try to incorporate more exercise and get some vitamins. Maybe it will help with the "spaced out" feelings that I am also having. Thanks for the great advice everyone! I was sleeping a lot for me too. I am still sleeping 8-10 hours a n ight. Your body is healing itself and just like when you have the flu, it takes some energy. Enjoy it! Navigator.

Our body is shedding the effects of being under years of dependence upon a powerful stimulant and the process of withdrawal and readjustment can be physically and emotionally exhausting. We're also experiencing changes in basic metabolism as our heart rate and respiration have rapidly returned to normal. Time distortion, awaiting that next crave episode, using anger or fear to try and generate adrenaline that we sense is missing, possible sleep disruption, it isn't at all unusual to feel a bit drained during the first few days but after that you should begin feeling much better with more energy than you may have felt in years. Just as recovering from any other illness, the body and mind need time to heal. Moderate exercise can act as a natural pick-me-up and also help us sleep better. We need to allow ourselves additional rest, extended sleep or even a nap. The first two weeks consume tremendous energy. Take extra good care of yourself. Educate yourself. Enjoy the journey to your freedom. Valic, This spaced out feeling can again be attributed to the adjustment phase your body is now going through as a result of your quit. Your lungs are being exposed and absorbing higher concentrations of oxygen for the first time in years which can lead to dizziness. In combination with this you're also experiencing withdrawals from carbon monoxide which leads to that "spaced out" feeling. Both withdrawal symptoms are common among quitters and may last for a few weeks but as always consult your doctor if your symptoms persist or worsen. valic ... What you are expeiencing in "normal" for many of us... You may want to look into taking some vitamin supplements if you aren't already... Sleep is good - and so healing, so sleep and rest when you can and just lean into your Quit:) Blessings be- Healer My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 134 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,712 Amount Saved: $623.1 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 11 Mins: 6 Seconds: 1
