Sleeplessness

for 18 år siden 0 18 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Nope you are not the only one! Mine was worse the first 4 or 5 nights without nicotine. It is starting to get better now - when I wake up, I am able to go back to sleep instead of being up all night staring at the walls, lol. I got online and read posts when I was up at night. Anyway, this too shall pass! kudos on your smoke free days! Ktleighdt, Melatonin helped me that first week or so. Sleep is really important to help fight off cravings. I bought a box of the neutragena face masks the other day. Comes 4 to a box. It is moist, you put it on your face, lay back and relax for 15min. Take off and massages moister into face. Little slimmy feeling but so relaxing. I was a sleep in like15 mins after I took off. Hey it is good for skin, mind, and soul. Great reward for 1week of not smoking. Keep the quit. I too was a cold turkey who kept waking up at night. It has gotten much, much better. Now down to maybe once a week, I'll wake & lay awake 1/2 to 1 hour before falling back asleep. Did exactly as Satchfanswife in the early days - got up & read SSC. Hang in there, Ericon My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 871 Amount Saved: $174 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 19 Mins: 9 Seconds: 55

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

I certainly don't want anyone to replace one addiction with another, But when I had trouble sleeping I had me a little toddy right before bed. Of course, the mixture of that, wellbutrin and the patch lent to some entertaining dreams :8o: But I always woke the next day well rested (psychologically scarred, but well rested!) Hello! I am Day #5 after quitting cold turkey. I am having some pretty strong cravings but have been staying "smoke free." I know that once you quit you tend to wake up earlier and are more "well rested." I have been quite the opposite. I wake up all the time. Every one to two hours and I am so tired today. Is this normal?? thanks so much! k My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 135 Amount Saved: $30 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 8 Mins: 41 Seconds: 36

kt, what you are experiencing is what many others here on this sight have gone through, including me. as soon as I took the patch off I was waking up every two hours or so in the middle of the night. it has been about a week now without the patch and I am gradually sleeping longer and better. I feel more rested as time goes on and I am sure you will too. good luck kat My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 490 Amount Saved: $120 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 14 Mins: 52 Seconds: 38

Hi there ktleighdt! I too suffered sleeplessness in the early stages of my quit. It was more annoying than bothersome, but I sure did notice how sluggish I was. I never tried Melatonin like Healer mentioned, but I did add in a nap daily. I am very lucky to be a stay-at-home mom, so I was able to add in naptime for me. Somehow, I slept better at my nap than I did at nighttime. Hang in there. Once your body starts to get normal again, you will adjust. Take care of yourself, and do anything relaxing at night. You will make it through -- just hang on. If it gets too bad, I'd make an appt with your doc. ;) 4my2girls What Consumes Your Thoughts Controls Your Life My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 191 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,745 Amount Saved: $624.57 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 9 Mins: 52 Seconds: 48
