I am with you Kat! My quit day is Aug 21st, 20yrs of smoking over a pack a day. Sorry for some reason my meter will not work??
I feel the emotional rollercoater you are on, hey I am right beside you. I am trying to control me...smokes controlled me for so long it is time I took charge. It is hard, stay away from smoking at all cost, deal with all your feelings.
Trust me I feel like I am going to explode!!! Not eating more just feel like a blimp!!! But smoking is not got to solve my big thighs...I think it is water weight???
Hang in there...I am with you! And I understand!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, I'm here to join the august quitters, my date was the 12th and i smoked around 25 a day, although there were days when it was more and days when it may have been a bit less, but on average thats about it.
Anybody come up with a name yet?

Am an emotional quitter too. Just nipped the kids'heads - though they kinda deserved it, it's not something I'm usually guilty of. Given them kind of an easy ride these last few years. it's just that as a single mum, the quit is all down to me but sometimes, despite having teenagers, sometimes it feels like EVERYTHING is down to me!
Oh well. They'll survive. I'm an August 20th quitter. Single mum of two. About to start a new job (that I don't much want) and move house (that I don't much want to do either) and send my "baby" off to Uni. (that I REALLY don't want!!!!!) I'm in Scotland and would like to be in the group.
Sometimes, I'm quite positive. ;)

Hi all,
so I just hit the one week mark and as a reward I did a little shopping (which I never do). I was feeling so good about this and I still am... but when I woke up this morning I was so emotionally disturbed. I was having horrible dreams and cried most of the morning. I know that this is just the toxins leaving my body but WOW...it can be rough going. In my effort to console myself I got on this sight and saw another posting that suggested those who are quitting this month join a group and give ourselves a name so that we can watch out for one another and such. great idea...sorry I can't recall who said it first because I have been reading so many posts. anyways....feeling a bit more light hearted....ALL AUGUST QUITTERS POST HERE SO WE CAN MAKE A GROUP AND GIVE OURSELVES A NAME.
good luck all
kat
