Hi Nalu - That was one gosh awful night (<---Windy using internet appropriate language) I'm so glad you posted but so sorry that I didn't offer any support as I just got on here tonight after supper. You deserve a major award for making it through that one! Welcome to the roller coaster ride....there are many of us on it. I'll be glad to hold your hand during the "down" parts as long as you'll hold mine on my next one. Next time....let's go for the "paddle boat" type quit. This roller coaster thing can get exhausting. Sending you warm wishes from frosty Canada! By the way...my mood was good today but my memory is shot...forgot my underwear, forgot my briefcase and wondered where all the tiny white bugs were coming from (snow!) Can you say........basket case! Just remember it DOES get better!!! Do not smoke get through it the crave, want, need whatever will pass. If you give in you will be right back where you began..you do not want to go through withdrawls again. What you are going through is normal we have all been there...it makes you crazy. But if you stay on track it gets better I promise. Be patient with yourself, pamper yourself do what you need to keep you from smoking!!! You are getting there 1 week down.....good for you!!!!!!!!! Hi Nalu, I'm glad you're feeling better, and glad you came here to post instead of puff, i know what you're going through with not being able to sleep. Somedays it doesn't seem to matter how tired you are it just won't happen. It should get better soon for you. The rough times get farther and farther apart...i went through one yesterday too with you and trust me I was crying right along with you. Congratulations of finishing hell week! Nalu, Awesome job resisting!!! You and your quit will be much harder because you triumphed in this situation! I don't think you messed up at all... unless I misunderstood something. You haven't smoked, right? Then how have you messed up? There's nothing wrong with craving... this early in the game, it's a given that it WILL happen to you! So don't beat yourself or be hard on yourself because you're craving. In my opinion, if you haven't smoked, then you haven't messed up at all! This is a tough addiction to break! Be proud of yourself and your accomplishments! The second thing I want to say is that you asked why it is so difficult, even though the toxins are out of your body... well, that's where the mental addiction comes in. Most of this battle is a mental battle. The physical stuff is easy to deal with in comparison to the mental battles. Keep fighting and don't give in! You're doing awesome! Crave the Quit! Look at the stars Nalu!! How wonderful it must be to see the night sky twinkle w/ stars! Tell me about the Islands!! I have never been to paradise. I want to see what you see. But we do win Nalu!! We start our bodies healing as well as our minds. We begin to heal from the abuse we have done to ourselves. Out of all the pacing, you got your heart pumping, the blood flowing, even doing some walking as it is exercise!! Cry Nalu!! Let the tears cleanse your soul!! I have cried hard too! We have been where you are at and this is what we call Hell Week. Do not throw that towel in Nalu. Instead, take it to wipe your brow. Sending you lots of HUGZ Nalu!! Hi Nalu, Please try not to give in. Sometimes it's hard but you know you can do it. Keep yourself busy and get out the copingtoolbox. Post often but please......Don't smoke !!! Hang in there, this all will pass. Nalu one week under your sleeve, you've done the worst part, might not seem like it to you right now, but you did. Take care of yourself, reward yourself, whatever you like bubble baths, massage, facial, manicure, you need a reward for this achievement. It gets better. You can do it ........ :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 121 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,823 Amount Saved: $484 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 0 Mins: 38 Seconds: 8

Nalu: Wow! You had arough one last night. I pray today will be better... I remember one night myself searching under couch cusions, coat pockets, etc...in search of a stale smoke. Searched my 16 year olds room thinking he might have one hidden. Instead I found a can of dip. Instead of getting angry about the dip, the junkie in me was angry that he wasn't sneaking around smoking like a normal kid! Then I could have stolen one off of him.... The worst was, that before I threw the dip away I contemplated trying to roll it up and smoke it! Needless to say, this one act knocked me completely out of the running for 'Parent of the Year'. Yep. It's a sick addiction. Today is a brand new day. I hope your day today is bright and filled with peace! BTW---No rain; No rainbows! Hang in there!
