I think society does make it worse for those with certain disorders, but for me, no. I had this all of my life, Birth mother has it, and we struggled at a young age, with little or no help in this field. No one knew back then what it was about except for the cognocenti. We who had it, had to hide it or we would not or could not have been accepted into "society". And the society I had to be acceted into was truly "society", with all the positive and negative aspects thereof. My adoptive parents had no understanding of this disorder, as they did not have it..I found someone early on in life who understood, and we are friends to this day..many, many years later. She has, and still does, help me to this day. Anne-Marie, moving to the side of a mountain can be a wonderful experience, as long as you are not "running" from something. As we all know, you can run, but you can't hide. The "beast" abides within.Do you need someone to fish for you? LOL Red

Does anyone think our panic attacks are a direct reaction to the society in which we live? Do you think we would have panic attacks if we lived up the side of a beautiful mountain with the only stress we would have is if we caught enough fish for the evening camp fire? I'm thinkin' of movin' to the wilderness. I must say, in all seriousness, it has crossed my mind. Nite Nite, Maria
