Hi, Bonny. Congratulations on 8 days quit and welcome to the SSC.
Hell week's done, hello heck week. :)
Don't compare your quit to any others. None of us are the same. So if someone is badly depressed at 78 days, that does not mean you will be, too. I certainly wasn't, so follow my example. ;)
First off, make sure you reward yourself often. Rewards are very important to the healing process and to battling the depression that often so naturally goes with a quit. They don't have to cost much, or even anything at all. They just need to make you smile a bit, give you a warm and fuzzy feeling.
If you need some hand/mouth distraction try this. Cut a straw to about the length of a cig. Put a couple of small folds on one end (the "fire" end) and bite them to crimp them down. Adjust the folds and crimps until it feels like taking a drag on a cig when you suck on it. It makes a great prosthetic and you can "smoke" anywhere, anytime. I used one for about the first 3 - 4 months and it really helped.
Keep up the good quit, Bonny.
Shevie
