Take it from someone who has blown quits in the past. Do not beat yourself up. Learn from it and move forward guilt will consume you. Who are you doing this for? Hopefully your answer is you!! If that is the case then it really does not matter what everyone else thinks, it is what you do. "Never give up giving up." No one has the right to punish or scold you. So there fore give yourself a break and brush yourself off and face the day with a fresh new attitude knowing that you learned something about yourself and use it as a tool not to go back again. We cannot give up trying. Giving up on ourselves is not an option. Hang in there and know that you are not alone.TextText

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

You know, when I was still smoking, "I'm a loser" is a part of what was going through my head all the time. Did I smoke because I was a loser, or was I a loser because I smoked? Most of the time I wasn't sure, and I still haven't figured it out, even now. What I can tell you for sure, though, is that the nicodemon (mine is named Vlad) whispers to me that I'm a loser when I smoke. Interestingly enough, Vlad also whispers to me that I'm a loser when I've quit, to try and get me to smoke!"Aaawww ... come on. Your life's not so great. How much is it really worth? Have a smoke and see if that doesn't help you feel better. All the cool kids are doing it." This is to say, Vlad the Nicodemon has no concept of reality. I'm not a loser. You're not a loser. My life may not be perfect, your life may not be, either. But I think John McCain said that any day that starts out with a doorknob on your side of the door is a good day. (Wasn't John McCain a POW? If not, I apologize to whoever it was I've just quoted.) Your life is a good one, worth saving, worth living fully. It's also a life that you can control, take charge of, make changes in. There's a knob on your side of the door. Don't buy a pack, don't bum any more, make a commitment and honor it. p.s. I highly recommend naming your Nicodemon. Then you can say things like, "Ha! I LAUGH at you, Vlad! Go back to Transylvania and impale yourself!" However, it is very unwise to have those kinds of conversations out loud, especially in public places, i.e. in the pet section of Walmart, during church services, at your children's school bookfair, etc. My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/27/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 26 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 404 Amount Saved: $78 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 6 Mins: 29 Seconds: 26

Don't beat yourself up. Your dissappointed, sure, but get back up and do it for real. Just remember that you can do it and you proved that with your 42 days! We are here for you and will try to help but you have to post before you fall not after. Only you can make the quit stick! I know you can do it! Stay strong!!! No loosing as long as you are getting back on the quit. You will have lost once you quit quitting. Listen very closely the Butterfly Swimmer she is wise and very sage. Get your coping mechanisms together, gather your strength, relocate your reasons for quitting and arm yourself with lots and lots of courage. Read some of the posts here, there are some very inspirational struggles and some very resolute quitters that you can follow. Thanks for posting and for getting back up, dusting yourself off and getting going. Jonser, so long as you keep coming here you are not a loser, you become a loser once you give in all together. You have to learn from a blip and come out stronger and wiser as a result. Most successful people have had to encounter a failure or two along the way to greatness. What sets them apart is that they learn from the experience, dust themselves down and come out fighting even harder. You have to do the same, understand why you smoked that cig and make sure it is dealt with next time the situation arises. And still sick old Jonser here smoked it all, every last bit of it. It was so not enjoyable, so to anyone past the month don't do it, it is sooo not worth it... I feel like such a loser I am so sorry to let you all down, I really let myself down this time I haven't given up though, and I don't think I ever will give up N.O.P.E My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 42 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 515 Amount Saved: $388.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 23 Mins: 57 Seconds: 28
