Thanks all, you guys are awesome!!! I'm so glad I found this site. I truly believe I can do it but I realize I will have weak moments. Just need to remember where to come when it happens.

Just got out of the shower and I realized that my habit included taking a shower & then go outside to smoke a cigarette. So now I the craving is attacking me. I'm telling myself I smell so nice why go out there and get all stinky again. I thought well I can cover my hair with a towel and wear a glove on my right hand (it's in the high 80's out there) and I'll smell ok. Ugh, this too shall pass right?

Milaya It will take some time for those bad habbits to go away but they do. They cross my mind all the time and just say oops I don't do that any more. Its amazing how bad habits are so easy to pick up and so hard to let go. Smoke free in Albuquerque!! Milaya, the cravings Will pass. Don't let that evil addiction take over your mind, stay strong. I love the breathing suggestion from Lana, that works for me all the time, I love to breathe in fresh clean air.I also like to go overboard on chewing sugar-free gum...sometimes huge wads at a time. Look over your reasons for quitting, that helps me too.Hang in there and let us know how you're doing. Milaya, you will see that there is a lot of things you used to do and when it was done, you used to lit up a cigarette. Try to distract yourself and when you have done the same thing a couple of times you will learn "new behaviors". For instance - I never used to eat breakfast, I went up from bed, took my coffee cup and my cigarette and went outside to smoke. I changed this to have breakfast instead. Today when I wake up in the mornings, I have my coffe in bed and after my shower, I have breakfast. The quit smoking process is a lot about to learn new ways to deal with everyday situations. You have mad a very good choice to come here. The people here is great and they will help you in every way they can. Milaya, Yes, this too shall pass. BREATH AND BREATH AND BREATH DEEPLY SOME MORE. You can do this Milaya. Put some soup cans in your hands and do some lifting of them. Walk briskly around the block with headphones on. Do something to distract yourself from the smokes. Watch a movie, go to the movies. YOU CAN DO IT. JUST N.O.P.E. Hi Milaya - Yes it passes. You're stronger than it. You'll beat it down. I still get up and go looking for my cigarettes. When I take a break here at work i find myself absent mindedly heading toward the smoking area. I have to laugh at myself. It makes me realize what control that addiction had on me, and to some extent, still does. I was so conditioned to feed the addiction that my life was altered by it to suit its needs. YIKES! I'm really glad my eyes are open now, and it seems like yours are too. I think you see these urges for what they are, the addiction dying, and trying it's best to survive in you, but you're not gonna let that happen are you? When you hit a trigger point in your day, think about how controlled you were and get mad, not sad. Sounds to me like you're right on track. Have a great day!
