I am having a harder time today than before - any reason for that? I know I am bored - hubby has to work this weekend and not much going on. The craving is pretty bad - but I have not given in - and won't!! Hi dottie, I know what you mean, today is my 14th day smoke free, but what about those crazy cravings and spaced out feelings, I went cold turkey 14 days ago and today is the worst day ever!I tell you I very nearly gave in this morning and then I reminded myself how good its been the last 2 weeks, not coughing my gutts up on a morning, not stinking of smoke, and how much more I have in my purse.I suppose we all hit a low day at some time or other, this is mine. mikomi.

I'm proud of you for staying strong! Keep your head held high, and walk with pride! This is an amazing thing you are doing for yourself! We always have our ups and downs, but look at them as a way of your body healing. Healing from all those years of abuse!! Be kind to yourself! Make sure you read Rewards, nicotine, and the brain . It is so helpful on the reasoning behind why it is so important to reward ourselves. I still try to tell myself things that have changed for the better since I quit. I used to do it everyday, but now, it is getting a little harder to find some new ones! But I have printed them out on a pretty piece of paper, and I carry them with me. Just knowing how far I've come, and the things that I have noticed that have changed, makes this quit a little brighter. Also, maybe starting a new hobby might make you feel excited again! I started gardening. It is so nice to be able to smell!! Anyhow, I just wanted to check in with you. I am glad you crushed one of Nicodemons little tricks! Stay strong! ;) 4my2girls My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 69 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,085 Amount Saved: $225.63 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 14 Mins: 16 Seconds: 16

Hi Dottie!!! Firstly, Congratulations on your 21 days smoke-free!! That is a wonderful achievement! Be very proud of yourself! :) I do believe a reward is due here. I think it might just lift your spirits! Since your hubby is working, consentrate on some "me" time. You have earned it! :) That might be the reason why you are feeling this way today. You are out of the new, excited stage. It is very important to cater to yourself now. Be kind and gentle to yourself. Stay strong! You can do this!! 0n 3 weeks Dottie - I will be at 3 weeks tomorrow. And yes it is hard at times.
any reason for that?
Yes there is - the tobbacco companys made sure that we would git addicted to the stupid little cancer sticks, by putting all of those nasty chemicals into them. And it takes time to get over the wanting of that next smoke. Try taking a nice long warm bath, or exercise, make popcorn and watch a good movie. Or take a nice long walk if the weather is good. Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit......
