I bought a pack

for 19 år siden 0 51 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
kitty-kay, I wanted to keep a pack of smokes at my apartment when I first quit. I felt that I wouldn't smoke them, they would just be there for emergencies. I convinced my self of that...even though in my mind I was giving myself an out. My boyfriend told me that it would be such a big temptation that I should just toss them and I argued and he won.We broke them over the toilet and flushed them. It was very traumatic and made me cry...but for some reason after I had done something that extreme...I felt like I could get through this quitting process. You can too...just be strong and get rid of them. You will survive.

We are all junkies and what you are experiencing is the thinking pattern of a junkie (aka. junkie thoughts). The mantra you will see here often is N.O.P.E. (Not One Puff Ever). I even wrote it across four fingers of my smoking hand one particularly difficult evening. I have blown more quits by listening to the junkie thoughts and having that one drag, that one cigarette or that one night of smoking. I am a junkie. I am not, nor will I ever be, a social smoker. There is nothing that makes it OK for me to smoke. I hope you are able to keep your quit, tear up that pack and don't ever buy another. I hope that you will keep coming back here and that you will find as much comfort in the support offered here as I have. Good luck, we're here for you! Okay...you are all right. I need to destroy the pack. Funny how I feel guilty wasting the $$$ and the smokes, but not for wanting to smoke them. Heaven forbid I waste $10.00. What a stupid habit this is...I am soooo sick of it!! =^..^=

Okay....so I started with cold turkey b4 I found this web-site. I am finding it hard, and my cravings never go away after 15 minutes. If I smoke the pack I can then start new....using the web-site support. I've gone 50 some-odd days now. Am I just making excusses...or does this make sense?? I am willing to start a new quit date, and try again. I want to start a family...so this is really important to me. Any advise would be appreciated. Hey kitty..... How did you do last night? How are you doing today? Keep busy - go for a walk, start a puzzle, do SOMETHING to distract yourself. I know it's painful having to STILL go thru craves when you are this far along, but I have found that if I dwell on them - someone here said it is like a fleeting thought that gets stuck between your ears - I drive myself insane with cravings. And I know better now then to do that. You have gone so far with this. Don't give in now..... i.ve been were you are now! i bought a pack weeks ago, i lit one took 2-3 puffs, and that was enough,it was horrible,i just wanted to see what it was like after all this time, i felt disgusted with myself, ashamed, guilty, you name it,i felt it!! i was on patches but since the course ended and i am off the patches i am not to bad, i get a few niggles, but i don't give in, i think to myself:" don't be stupid, you've come this far and done really well, don't spoil it now!" so that's when i come on here, i find if you put it in writing it makes it easier. when it gets hard, just come here and have a natter! chris. Hey Kitty-Cat, let me get this straight. You have gone 54 days and now want to know if you can smoke a pack and then restart using web support? No, No and No. You can get all the support you need here without smoking or restarting your meter. You are just making excuses. Please don't smoke. Destroy that pack immediately. I know we don't know each other and you have no reason to take my advice, but I am an extremely wise, smart and beautiful person, you should listen to me. LOL. Seriously, smoking will not get you any closer to starting your family, but your determination to do this will give you another lesson to use in parenting. Keep Strong. you are doing great! Stay strong! Buying a pack now will be making relapse a habit and an okay thing to do and it will be harder for you to quit. No excuse is a good excuse to quit. I hope you didnt smoke.

kittycat...It's all junkie thinking. Get rid of the smokes. You don't need them. You have over 50 days under your belt. Do you really want to go through all that again from scratch? I know I wouldn't want to. Smoking never solves anything. It just makes things worse. Drown those stupid things in water and get rid of them. They will KILL you. There is no need to start over. Just keep going My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 224 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,499 Amount Saved: $784 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 19 Mins: 51 Seconds: 43

Kitty-kat, It's not JUST a habit... it's an addiction. And as such, we addicts will do crazy things to keep our addictions... even rationalize doing something that we KNOW is going to kill us!!! You're doing the right thing by destroying them... just think about all the money you have already saved, and all the money that you will save by NOT smoking!!! I know it's rough... I had a hard time around 50 days too... but you're doing the right thing and this WILL get easier! I promise! Hang in there! Crave the Quit!
