Mickey. Quitting sucks. That's the best way I know to put it. I have cried a lot throughout my quit especially in the early days. You may want to seek the advice of a counselor. A lot of companies have programs that allow you so many free visits. They may be able to help you put your quit into perspective. When I quit, I felt like I had just lost my best friend and in my reality I really had. Keep taking it one step at a time. Things will get better and the clouds do clear. Quiting is hard but very rewarding. The depression you are feeling now shows you just how much of a hold the smoking really had on you. Take your life back and never forget that you are in control not the addiction. Hang in there. You can do this. It really is worth it. I promise. Is your sadness related to feelings that you have "lost" something??? Are you not letting go of smoking because you think it was such a comfort?? Are you looking at a smoke free life as "scarey"??? Do you feel that smoke free means you will be "less" in some way??? there is a fantastic post that addresses this question....When will it stop? ( by Duffis I think....kick me if I am wrong?) Hopefully someone will drag that up for you?? The point is, it will stop when YOU tell it to. When you SEE smoking for the dirty, disgusting, deadly addiction that it really is. you must turn your thinking from the negative into the positive. You are still thinking about smoking.....the trick is to learn to wallow in the power of NOT smoking instead of the so called sadness of quitting. ;p Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1511 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 60,463 Amount Saved: $8310.5 Life Gained: Days: 197 Hrs: 3 Mins: 56 Seconds: 52

Mickey, Withdrawal symptoms will be different for everyone. This is normal, so take the time to have a good cry and let it all out. Start making a list of coping mechanisms that will help you through those tough times. Post often and let us know how we can help, Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
