Fear of death anxiety

Hi Easy After my father passed away a long time ago, I had this desperate urge to know what death will be like. Not the actual point of dying but what is beyond this life. I spent hours and hours reading everything I possibly could and after about two years of searching just thought: "Well, that's it. I have read everything I could, I still don't know for sure, but I know enough." I concentrated on books about people who are able to communicate with the dead etc. This period in my life was when I was diagnosed with depression and today I can kick myself because the way I treated this situation had a huge impact on my life. I was a very religious person at this stage and reading all these other things, which was against our religion then, (and I suppose now as well) caused a lot of conflict in myself. So much so that I have resigned from my church because they made me feel inferior because I was not just able to believe. It is a very difficult subject this as we don't really know for certain what will happen. We believe that we will go to heaven if we are christians, other religions believe something different and everyone thinks that they are right. Fact is Easy, we are all going to die. There is absolutely nothing we can do or say that will change this. Nothing at all. To tell you to just accept that, might not be what you want to hear, but you just have to. Why put yourself through this hell when you know it is going to happen. To use the cliche: "Life is a journey, enjoy the ride." What I am saying might sound simple. I believe in this case, it is simple. You have no choice. Do you know how much energy you are putting into this. You yourself has said that it takes a lot of your time. Could you not use that same energy to focus on what is going to happen before you die. Your life is happening. Don't let it pass you by. Please

I am sorry you went through this experience, but maybe it is good you have thought of it. It can make living more meaningful if you have an idea of what death is. Here are a few more thoughts for you to look up; Gen. 3:19;Eccl. 9:10; Eccl. 9:5; Ps. 146:4; John 11:11-14. If you look these up in any bible, or on the internet bibles available, you will see the answer to your question. The hope is as I mentioned before, that at John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15. The resurrection, or the coming back to life will take place in the future for most people. There is much more, but it would take a search on your own part. I hope you will keep searching, and feel more comfortable about a time when you may die in the future; you may come to a time when you will feel much more comfortable about your worries. Please do not worry about it, so far, it is a part of everyone's life. Things may change in the future according to the bible also.

Hi, everyone,Thank you to all who has participated in this topic. I will try to explain the specifics of this terrible anxiety. It happend to me about 2 years ago, when I took a catnap in the afternoon to recharge myself. And suddenly some message in my mind woked me up,it felt like cold-hot shower went over my body, and message sounded like that: Do you realize that eventually you gonna die?! When I heard this inner voice I was still in transitional stage between sleep and waking up and it felt 10 times more dramatic. This message sounded so strange like i never knew that we eventually all gonna die. It sounded like it was total discovery to me. This dramatic message made life miserable, life for me will never be the same. After that one year ago my mom past away. Her death made my deppression plunge dipper. Now I,m facing fear of unknown. What it is there? Fear of nothingness. I,ve become fixated on these questions. Sometimes i surf the internet on the topic like near-death-experience and other topics, but nothing give me the comfort.

Easyrider777, it sounds as if you are facing an actual threat to your life, as opposed to a generalised fear of dieing, is that true? If it is, then you may fear what comes next purhaps because of your past lifestyle? Or maybe a teaching of helfire, or whatever? If you believe the bible there is a comforting scripture at John 5:28, 29...see what I mean? If you believe that, then you have nothing to worry about. We will all get a second chance...That is the meaning of God is Love.

easy, You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find our Depression Test. This test is not a diagnostic tool and is not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. This may better assess the situation. If you have any question or concerns with our site or please contact Support Department at support@depressioncenter.net. We are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Josie ____________________________________ The Depression Center Support Team.
