Quit Milestones

8 years tomorrow Vicenza but I am neither particularly excited nor particularly motivated by it. I'll smile when I wake, like I do every morning, but perhaps tomorrow with a little more resonance. The 18th of May will always hold a special place in my heart but at this stage, the job is done and I no longer have to be wary and I no longer feel the same elation that I felt after a day (hard!), a week (nightmare!), a month (joy!), and particularly a year (euphoria!). They were the real achievements, the real meaningful milestones. Tomorrow really is just another day but it is another day in a happier part of my life.

Anbody reading this; quit now, celebrate your milestones joyously and before you know it you will be where I am today. Good Luck!

Right, now that I have addressed your question, I have two things:-

Firstly, I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment expressed some moments ago by the right honourable member for somewhere in the Carolinas and secondly, I want some of what he's been drinking!

Vincenza, thank you for the opportunity to expand on my personal feelings.  First off you as a member of the staff you have restrictions as set forth by your employment agreement.  Thus you cannot post your true feelings without the fear associated with company management.  I have been on this site for going on 8 years and .................back in the days.............I started the "BEACH"  100 days quit.  This is the point where most quitters reach an exhaustion and need to relax.  Time to party with fellow quitters and celebrate.  Then I started the 500 club where members reached the half way climb up the quit mountain. Then we posted romantic vacation places to fulfill the empty spot of no nicotine and rewards.  Only Josie can recall the excitement and enthusiasm of these posts.  Too many restrictions on members that wish to post, expand and expose true feelings.  For the SSC these remarks and feelings are totally unnecessary for data gathering,  thus the restrictions.  I feel for Ashley trying to start a Facebook Page on behalf of the SSC .  We older quitters avoid this page as "too late" you should have listen to us in the beginning. As the SSC is under contract to gather stats and info from members you will never be the success that you could be until you (excuse me) the SSC;  starts listening to the members who arrive and expect to vent, quit and share with other folks (members)  I have a small amount of red wine (one or two gallons) under my belt...........or may  be I would not post as I have.

By the way.  You are the most favorite mentor on this site.

With respect

Mr Duffis

Hello members,

Reaching a milestone can be very powerful event. These monumental points in our journey remind us of how far we’ve come and of how much agency we have in creating the future which we envision for ourselves.

Is there a quit milestone that you’re especially excited or motivated to reach? What will this milestone mean to you when you’ve reached it? Moreover, what concrete actions can you take today to increase your odds of success in reaching this milestone?
