Way to go Rhonda!!!
I know what you mean about the stinky smell!!! You can sure smell it on others now!!
now every time you go into a smokey bar or party, all you have to tell yourself is, "I got through my Bday, I can get through anything!"
Cheers!!
Sous

Hello everyone! I am new to this, I am actually smoke free for five days now. I am feeling pretty good, but I can relate to you Rhonda. The reason I choose this time to quit, was because the city I live in has gone totally non smoking since January 1 2007.
I have been mentally preparing for this for three months. I work in a bar, and up until now, we could smoke at work.
So anyway not an easy week at work, but I was getting by because there was very little temptation!! Until tomorrow, I have agreed to pick up a shift at a freinds restaurant {he's in a real bind). I just found out that the staff is still smoking in the back, away from the customers, but it will be impossible for me to ignore!!
I am trying to prepare myself for this, and I am Not interested in smoking!! But I am very nervous!!
I hope my rambling made sense!
As most of you know, I am not thinking very clearly lately.
Let me know how you get through the rough times!
Thanks
Sous
Thanks summer, Danielle and everyone, I just spent the last hour working on my toolbox, I feel very confident, but what really keeps me going, is hearing from all of you, and reading what you post.
I am surprised at my determination! The last thing I will do before I go to work tomorrow, is sit down and read more posts.
I'm thinking about Rhonda,I hope she's having fun.

Rhonda - Congrat's - You did it!
I wanted to tell you, but I waited. In my past when I had quit - it was very hard for me go into any smokey atmosphere. I was truly the worst ex-smoker, ever. Not that I wanted to smoke - but the horrible smell. I couldn't breathe - I thought I didn't quit to have my hair & clothes smell this nasty smell - you can really smell this after you quit. Do you know what I'm saying? This is another great reason for why I'm
quitting, again.
Funny, the last time I quit - I was dating a Fire Marshal - imagine that! Another story. We hooked up on the internet a few months ago.
I look at my past quit times - I always quit for others. But this time I am quitting for ME.
Anyway - glad that you made it. Tomorrow is my date - I may not be on here to much - I will need to stay busy. Will let you know! I may need some "B" time - hope not!
Take care - the other Rhonda!
Dearest little Rhonda - funny how I have thought about you all this evening! I hope you had a wonderful birthday party!
My thoughts have been with you, even though I don't even know you!
I have more to tell you after your birthday party!
Truly,
Rhonda/Summer.
Dear Sous - This is Rhonda, not the BD girl, the other one, Summer. I'm new to this site as well! Good for you being smoke free! I totally understand - the being a smokey place. Just think that it will only be temporary when you fill in at these establishments, for your friends. Feel confident - those MOMENTS of wanting a cig will pass, then pat yourself on the back. Dang, I'm a fine one to talk - My quit date is Monday 01/08/07 - but I might need you to talk to next week, if that's OK.
The first time I quit was 10 years ago - then 7 years ago - then I had some very stressful things happen in my life & kept vowing to myself I will quit. Like I said - I have a target date. I'm cutting way back - doing other things. I went I bought me some Nicoderm patches. This has really helped in the past. BUT, this time I want to quit for good.
I am thinking of the BD Rhonda - Bless her - she has much support & thoughts & LOTS of company!
;)
Hey Rhonda, Birthday Girl - It's me Rhonda! I have thought about you all day - wondering when your party was scheduled for. Sending you a note to wish you a fun evening.
I have to tell you this, my quit date is Monday. I have done this before. Just from my past experiences. If things get to smokey this evening - go outside & take several deep breaths of clean/clear air. I wish you well & HB & you can do it!! :)
Happy Birthday Rhonda and Happy Quit, you'll do it, I know it.
My bets are on you!
Marie

I am so proud of you! I think you should have sung "It's my party and you can't smoke if I dont want you to".. ok that was lame but it sounded good in my head lol
Happy Birthday (late)
You are a blessing to us all!
Peace
Dawn
