Hi Wolf Hope you are ok and that your quit is still intact. That fear is a good thing. It keeps you focused on your quit. You are doing a wonderful job here and you should be proud. vicki just 1 puff away from 2 packs a day My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,492 Amount Saved: $609 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 20 Mins: 58 Seconds: 34

Hi Grey Wolf- Of course you can!! You ARE!!! 11 days, wow! I never could do that. I never even tried. You are going to be able to continue to do this- it IS possible. If I can do it, anyone can. I was forced to quit due to my health, otherwise I would probably still be deceiving myself and puffing away. Now I don't want to smoke, I am a non-smoker. This does not mean I don't get cravings, because I do. But my desire to never smoke again is stronger. Stick around here- come as much as you can and you will find LOTs of support!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 116 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,509 Amount Saved: $754 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 6 Mins: 35 Seconds: 58

grey wolf, You are doing great! Look at you 11 days,326 cigs that you haven't smoked. You should be very proud of that. Continuing to have the urge to smoke on occasion is normal. Some times they are light and at others times they are fierce. But please keep in your mind, that at this point the physical addiction is over and what is left is a mind game between you and OLD NIC. He is a tricky opponent and will use every thing he knows about you to convince you that you can't do this. His main purpose is to keep you locked into the cig manufacturers product. He is loathsome, and nasty and he even cheats. He will use your spouse, your friends, your family, even strangers to try to get you back. But he can no longer make you smoke, you have broken the physical hold. Now it's time to boot him to the curb. You must take charge of your mind and let it know that you are through with smoking. That it is no longer an option in your life. And you must believe it yourself. Keep saying it until you do. When thoughts first come to your mind, shut them off quick. Let them know right up front that you are not having any. I and many others have found that if you continue to entertain thoughts that you might be willing to smoke even if you don't spell it out, then the cravings come harder and more frequantly until you close them off. So save yourself some trouble and start doing it now. "NO thank you, I don't smoke". I don't want to smoke, I will not smoke... See how many ways you can say it. Practice often. It will help. Hi grey wolf, How are you doing today? Stay strong, don't give in to the addict. What you are feeling will fade in time, have some patience with yourself. Take life slow and easy for a little while.
