YAYY, straightflop! It's important to recognize & celebrate these small victories, they add up to the big ones! You are so right that thinking about a cigarette is not the same as wanting one, good for you for realizing that so early in your quit. You are so going to make it!

You are doing very well! There are conflicting opinions about drinking/not smoking on this site. Like you, I found early on in my quit that I could drink and not smoke with no threat to my quit. So if you can too, enjoy it!!

I know it's not your normal "time" celebration, but i did take on two very stressful and smoke friendly situations this week and came out on top.
I went out with some co-workers for happy hour and did not not smoke. My first having a few drinks and not smoking. it felt great. I thought about it a lot but I really did not want one. i think there is a big difference from wanting one and thinking about smoking. I was more just very aware that I was not smoking.
Also, business trips are usually very hard not to smoke for me. Long drives, new areas, other smokers, smoky hotel rooms. You know all those things.
It felt so good to go do work and not take a break every 20 minutes to go smoke. And the 7 hour drive was so much better than stuffing 15 or more nasty cigs down my throat.
Just wanted to share another success. We are all successful everyday as everyday we are further and further from the demon.
Thank you everyone...
