I'll do my best to stay outta the kitchen guys  I'm amazed that I found the determination to make it through yesterday and I've dodged this mornings nicotine calling. Having access to the SSC helps a bunch...I come here instead of going outside (you guys are all so cute n' cuddly.) ;p Right now my mind is telling me just how much I love to smoke...quite depressing. However, this morning wasn't as bad as yesterday...and tomorrow won't be as bad as today. I'll put my trust in the bottom rung of the ladder and find the faith to climb!! (here's to stubborness and no matter what you do, don't pick up that cigarette) trace My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 46 Amount Saved: $18 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 57 Seconds: 37

so, i've wanted to shove forks into my eyes a dozen times during the last 24 hours and i think i've tried to bite my own face a few times. ;p the past 18 years of smoking...it never occured to me that this was gonna be horrid, yet had to be done eventually. i've been bouncing between angry, sad and ansy today; constantly telling myself it must be done. i appreciate all the encouragement...i need it. trace My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 38 Amount Saved: $9 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 16 Seconds: 57

holygeez, Congrats on your first day! Believe me, you are NOT alone here! We've ALL been there and lived to tell about it (and so did our loved ones, believe it or not! :8o: ) It WILL get better. Just hang in there and keep posting. Keep trying to distract yourself from the cravings and take it easy. Be good to yourself right now. And don't forget to reward yourself for all of your hard work. You're doing an excellent job! Crave the Quit! Welcome Holygeez! You are doing exactly what you need to be doing ~ refraining from that next cig. Just take one craving at a time. You can get through this, and we are here to encourage you all the way through! Just keep your head held high, and remember that this is a choice. Your body is healing itself. And like everyone said, Hell week SUCKS! I never want to go through it again. So, hang tough and stay close by. Read tons of older posts here to gain some insight as to what people truely feel, and go through when we quit. You can gather other info as well, but first-hand expierence is top notch! A must is to complete the tools to the left here, if you haven't already! Take care of yourself. You will make it through!! 4my2girls My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 304 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,149 Amount Saved: $994.08 Life Gained: Days: 24 Hrs: 12 Mins: 59 Seconds: 59

It's a very busy night! I have to keep you from giving new members (in withdrawal!) dishes to throw and I have to keep my kid from giving the cat a bath~holygeez is the word! :8o: :p

Holygeez :) I see....hmmmmm You might want to stay away from the kitchen utencils for awhile ;) They didn't name week one "Hell Week" for no reason did they? I would say you are doing GREAT. Congrats on day 1! When you withdraw your body and mind experience a traumatic jolt and react in a variety of ways. Just KNOW that your body is struggling to HEAL. Do whatever helps and push through taking it a day at a time. It was helpful to me to view quitting as a 'healing process' rather than a single act. Remember: Smoking doesn't stop the craves (they'll come again in 30 minutes) NOPE (not one puff ever) ends the craves FOREVER! Hang N there and Hang N here!
