Wow....longtime since this thread has come up.
"GOD LOVES US ENOUGH TO ACCEPT US
AS WE ARE
BUT...BUT..BUT....
HE LOVES US TOO MUCH
TO LEAVE US THAT WAY."
Could anything be better than knowing that?

This has gotten me through a lot of tough times.

Chin up quitters, the best is yet to come! :)

Lisa,
Yes... I know exactly what you are talking about.
This is really hard to do (quiting). But...for a longtime I have been prodded inside to do this and I would continually ignore it. I always thought.."later".
I was always trying to quit for HIM. Now I know...I needed HIM to quit.
I didn't need to quit "for" Him....but "by" Him.
not by my might nor power..but by the power of the Lord!!

Irish... are you still out there? How are you doing now?
I'm glad to have found this thread too. I used to think I was the only Christian in the world who smoked! I found out differently of course. I've smoked for years and have tried everything. I praise God for Chantix and the difference it has made for me. I'm 21 days quit today and I've never felt better.
Does anyone else feel like your prayer life has taken off since you quit? It's so great not to feel guilty anymore. I could never figure out how to pray for forgiveness for smoking when I felt like I would never quit.
21 Days!!! To God be the glory!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes.....
Remember...it is a war between the "flesh"...and the "spirit"
The Spirit resides in us....not along side us...but dwells/lives in us. The body often screams so loud we pay attention to it instead of the spirit in us. The Spirits voice is small....quit.....but when listened to VERY POWERFUL.
But often.... like the old saying goes...."the squeaky wheel gets greased"! We just don't want to grease it anylonger! ;)
1CORINTHIANS 3:16
"Don't you know, that you yourselves
are God's temple....and that God's Spirit
lives IN you?
1CORINTHIANS 6:19
"Do you not know that your BODY is a temple
of the Holy Spirit?
ROMANS 8:15
"Those who live according to the sinful nature
have their minds set on waht the sinful nature
desires"
but those who live in accordance with the Spirit
have their minds set on what the Spirit desires"
1CORINTHIANS 6:20
"YOU WERE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE
....THEREFORE...HONOR GOD WITH YOU BODY."

WOW
I am so glad that i found this post.
I did not consult God on my last quit, but I'm sure he was pleased.
Thanks for the encouragement & reminding me of what is, and should be the center of my life.
