Hi sheba55 - I did have an experience that may help... I had a patch on a few years ago when I was 'playing around w/the idea of quitting' and that day was at my doc's. My BP was sky high and he took off that patch and threw it in the garbage and told me to not ever do that to myself again... My BP immediately went down. I don't want to say that advice is for each of us, but that was my experience, and my BP in that moment was alot higher than yours. I do have a recommendation I think may help you as it has helped me with my BP (which is normal now without meds)... I have the SSC messenger (I am not usually logged on) if you would like to connect... Respond to this thread if you would like... I have been quit for 34days now ,My husband is in the hospital, when i was there i asked the nurse if she would take my blood presure it was 158over 90. I was told that the patch i have on could cause this to happen. I also was told that when you stop smoking your blood presure can go up. Does anyone know anything about this,or had the same thing happen to them?. I was told by a doctor a long time ago that if i quit smoking i would have o chance of getting heart problems, because my blood presure then was 120 over 80. Thanks for your help shebba 55 My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 34 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 698 Amount Saved: $85 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 18 Mins: 4 Seconds: 55

Hey sheba, I have blood pressure problems now that I didn't have before. It may or may not be related to NRT usage or quitting. But this is one symptom that you MUST have treated by your doc. Just make sure they know all meds you're taking, including the patch. Stay quit and be well!
