Weekend Woes

for 18 år siden 0 35 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Started out okay, friday night, all saturday, even turned down a cig that was offered, said NO. Later that evening, daughter asked me to stop at the store and get her some cigs, the junkie took over and gave me the perfect excuse to fall. I am back this am with a strong determination. I will tell my daughter today that under no circumstances will I pick them up for her again. Nor is she to give in to any request the junkie part of me asks for. This week and the weekend will be smoke free.

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I am back in the saddle and will hang on for the ride. During the week, it is easy to stay connected to the SSC, but on the weekends I rarely even turn on the computer. I am going to try to get to the ssc at least once a day on the weekends. That will be my goal for the weekend and possibly will help me get through it. Doing good today. Had a small test last night and resisted. Pretty easy to do when you are stuck somewhere. Anyway, told myself afterward "see you really didn't need any cig, you're just fine without". I am really glad that the weekend is still 4 days away, that way I can prepare and every crave/trigger I go through will make me stronger. my3girls, Welcome back my3girls, you are always welcome to this wonderful site with so much support and encouragement. I know that you will take advantage of everything SSC has to offer. Stay close to the site and read and post. I'm so sorry for your giving in to the nicodemon. So put it behind you and look forward to your new beginning. You have to be determined, committed, and really want to stop smoking. I know how hard it must be to live with a smoker. Is your daughter the only one that smokes? If so I wouldn't allow her to bring them into the house or smoke in my car. I know this may sound cruel, but really its not. This is your quit and you have to protect it no matter what it takes. Stay strong, and use all of your tools on the left. Learn to do the deep breathing, drink lots of water, and anything else that you can think of. Another big thing KEEP BUSY, find something you like to do. And don't forget your rewards...After you get through hell week be sure to reward yourself, very important... I'm so happy that you came back today... my3girls, I'm sorry to hear about your weekend. The fact is that our addicted selves can and will come up with any and every excuse possible to smoke if we let them. In fact, we don't really need an excuse at all. As addicts, we can always convince ourslelves that "just one" is ok and will help us out. It sounds like you're really upset about this, but it's time to let it go and learn from this mistake. Quitting MUST be N.O.P.E. Not One Puff Ever. I'm glad you're back to try again, but please be careful. Once you give in once, it's much easier to give in again. Please don't let that happen! Welcome back. Stick close to the site... that will really help you. And if you're in a situation where you think you might give in, force yourself to come here first, post about it and wait for responses. We'll do our bests to talk you out of it! :) Welcome back. Crave the Quit!
