I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 52, and like most of you have struggle with depression off and on all my life. I have found that a good therapist and antidepressants have been helpful, but on occasions (lately more than not) I have slipped into a "minor key" mood and attitude toward life (some career and health setbacks have been part of that.) I have previously studied and tried to apply CBT principles and they are helpful, just as the opportunity to talk with my therapist, friends, and family has helped. This website looks like it will enable me to refresh my memory about cognitive and behavioral principles so that I can work harder at challenging the thoughts and beliefs that contribute to my mood. I look forward to working through this. Thank you for reading and I wish you all the very best as you courageously wrestle with moods, too. We are worth it! Paddy
