My Goals

Those are terrific goals, Sherry, and I'm confident that with the Panic Program you can move towards achieving them. Remember to do the progrm one week at a time, one step at a time. Take little steps im planning your goals. Keep us posted on your progress? Practice deep breathing. Some people place a rubber band on their wrist and if they feel themselves getting edgy they snap the band and then deep breathe. Let us know how it goes at the dentist.

[color=Purple]Hi there, I too have strong fears of medications, to the point of not being able to take a tylonol because I'm scared of the side affects. I would like to set my goals to beable to take an advil for the pain I experience from my tendicitis. My main goal witch may sound stupid is: 1)Not to have a beer when I experience a panic attack, as it seems to help at the time, it really doesn't, it sets me back for about three days. 2)Another goal is for me to be able to leave the house without having to make every excuse in the book to have to stay. 3) To quit fearing the worse in everything. Thanks MeHere, I went to the dentist yesterday and it went great. The dentist was referred to me and knew that I had a high dental fear. The appointment was so easy that I kept thinking "is this really all there is too it?" Anyway... thanks for your kind support. I've many more goals to set in motion that is for sure. Best Wishes, PatienceTurtle.

I have already set in motion on my goals for the upcoming weeks. 1. Go to the dentist to deal with a broken tooth. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow. I am terrified of the dentist but I am doing this. 2. Attend counseling. I had my first counseling session today and have another scheduled for next week. I have never been in counseling so this is a big step. 3. Continue to taper off of Klonopin. I was prescribed this drug for essential tremor but chose it (the neuro gave me some choices) because it was a benzo and I thought it would help with anxiety. It has done little for my tremor and has made me irritable and depressed. I have been taking .5 am and .5 pm. I started a very slow taper down .125 every two weeks last Friday. I intend to continue this taper no matter what. 4. I have an appointment to see a psychiatrist to discuss medication. I have a very intense fear/phobia of taking medication but have decided I am going to talk to the psychiatrist about an antidepressant and then follow through on taking it. My fear related to medication is that I will be allergic to the medication. I will discuss this with the doctor and start at half of the lowest dose possible and stay there till I am comfortable, etc. Well that's it for now. Once these goals are really moving along, I hope to move on to dealing with some of my other fears..... Best Wishes, Patience.
