I forgot to mention something that I've been meaning to tell you but just keep forgetting. DUH :confuse: Have you quit taking your Paxil? I took Paxil for seven years and what you are going through is exactly how I felt when I quit it. Especially the electric shocks! In fact, those electric shocks went on every day for about a year before I quit taking it. There are tons and tons of lawsuits for Paxil right now because so many people have such a severe time with withdrawal symptoms when trying to get off or even just cutting the dose - even after only a month of using it. I found a website that seriously saved my life when I was going through the withdrawals (for six months) and if it wasn't for that website and the info I found there, I would probably still be on the Paxil. But, what I found there made me so angry that I swore I would never get back on it or any other panic med again. ANYWAYS..... before I go off on a big long speech about all that..... have you quit taking Paxil or have you cut your dose? I honestly believe the electric shocks you are feeling are Paxil related. That is one of the most common side effects while taking Paxil and even worse when quitting it.

Well.... the option of not taking anything really is not an option because the infection will only get worse. I checked both meds and their side effects and I'm think the Macrobid looks safer. You need to take something - this will not go away on it's own. Did you ask them about Amoxycillin or Penicillin or something more well known? I know how you feel being panicky about meds. I still haven't started the birth control I was prescribed last month. I decided to wait until I saw my doctor again, which is Wednesday, because the whole idea of taking something that may cause blood clots terrifies me. I'm sure I'll wind up taking them regardless, but I think I will feel better after talking to the doc in a couple days. Take your meds. Just because you had side effects with one med does not mean you will have them with another. Just be aware of any symptoms that may come up and call your doctor if something questionable does happen. But you need to take a chance. Any allergies that may occur will happen within the first 24 hours so if nothing happens after the first day, you'll be fine.

I called the Er room back today, the woman Gina was very nice she walked downstairs for my results from Friday, I do have an infection and need to take something. I have two choices "Bactrim" or "Macrobid" I read the side effects for both and they are so scary, after the Levaquin disaster, throwing up blood, shaking, electric shocks, I am terrified to take anything, I still do not feel well and I have not taken it for 3 days! I am leaning towards the bactrim since its been around awhile, but my nurse told me either one is good but the Macrobid is "quicker and stronger and more potent" thats what they said about Levaquin and look what happened, I do not know what to do, I have three choices, Take the Macrobid, or take the Bactrim, or just take nothing drink lots of water and hope it will leave, I am so afraid if I take either one of these drugs I will die, they said the side effects from Levaquin were "rare" and look what happened I got them. Has anyone ever taken either Bactrim or Macrobid, my nurse said both worked good and did not interact with my Klonopin, I am here alone with my child, the bactrim can cause death my pill book said but so can Macrobid. I need to do something quick, whatever I decide I am afraid it will be wrong because of what happened with the Levaquin, I am still achy and having electric shocks from it. Please help I am terrified, I had no idea you could get so deathly ill from an antibotic. Thank you I am sorry if this is jumbled I am just so scared I do not want to collaspe and my son be alone. Thank you, Debbie.
