EMDR Therapy

Dear Jackie, Emdr stands for Eye Movement Densensitization Reprocesseing. The therapist asked me to think of a very bad memory {a trauma I suffered 3 years ago that started the panic attacks} she then asked me to follow her fingers for 2 minutes. When she was done I felt strangely relaxed and calmed and the memory seemed "blurred and veiled" not so strong or disturbing if that makes sense. I was skeptical at first but it seemed to work somewhat, I just started so I will let you know how it progresses. I also take Zoloft {which I do NOT like because it seems to make me hyper and shaky} and I take one 0.5 Klonopin at night to sleep, which works great but I know it is addictive and I read when one attempts to go off Klonopin convulsions and seizures can occur, My Doctor assures me at that low dose and with proper tapering that will NOT happen, but being the worry-wart I am it still scares me. Incidently if anyone reading this has sucessfully gone off Klonopin I would be very interesting to know, I have been taking it 2 years, the low dose is good but the length of time I have been taking it concerns me, so if anyone can help me I would appreciate it concerning the Klonopin and if anyone has tried EMDR. Any replies would be very welcome!! I hope everyone has a great weekend and I will be looking forward to replies. THanks Debbie.

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone on the site has ever tried EMDR therapy, I had one session and it seemed to help, it blurred the bad memories and seemed to relax and calm me. I was curious if anyone has had sucess with this long-term. I know it is new but it seems like alot of Doctors and therapists are recommending it and people are doing it. Any feedback or information would be appreciated. Thanks so much.
