SP, I am going to take your advice about listening to "No Mud, No Lotus".  I really enjoy relaxation podcasts - my favorite is a free one called "Guided Relaxation Exercises" by Talaria.  I believe it is for coping with Breast Cancer - but it serves me well.
Good for you for being a health advocate for yourself and making that discovery about the birth control pills.  I think you are a very wise woman.

I don't really need to be on the pill, I have been on them for acne prevention and just cycle regulation. Pregnancy is not a risk for me as I am going through menopause at 35. I started back on the pill about 3 years ago because of heavy periods, cysts, pain etc. I think I will go off the pill as they are not doing me any favours. I just hate having the acne but I will have to address the acne instead.

Thanks

Sunflower.

Congratulations SP, you sound a lot more positive & happy today. Yes I have found that Doctor's are all too quick to give medication without checking that you can actually take it. I took myself of medication after 20+ years just because the Doctor prescribes doesn't mean you need or have to take, obviously I understand birth control pills are a necessity, have you thought of maybe a different method like an IUD that way you could take pills for your anxiety should you need them.
I had one when I was younger and they are no problem at all, you don't have to remember to take a pill everyday, so that is one less stress. Just an idea, hope all works out well. Remember stay positive we are all here for you.

Thank you everyone for the tips. I am going to take some extra time this weekend to reflect in a positive way and figure things out.

I recently listened to a meditation by Tara Brach called No Mud No Lotus. It really helped. Basically without suffering and pain we couldn't awaken or heal.

I also found out that the birth control pills that I am on are not recommended for anyone with panic, anxiety and depression! My doctor must have missed that. So I am going off them and going to get back to being natural, eating better, exercising etc.

Thanks everyone!

Sun,

Lots of great thoughts from the members.

Do try relaxation techniques or hobbies to calm you and keep your anxiety low.
Do try and make a list of what may be causing you to become anxious and panicky
Do write in your journal, how you are feeling

Take the time to pick out the trigger and work toward alleviating it.

Hi SP what is it that makes you feel panicky & crazy? Is it the thought of being in the same place for a long time? Is it the people or the environment? All these thing's can affect your mind set,

You are doing a wonderful job as I mentioned to you before, children need nurtured. Maybe you need a time out for a while, try something new that will occupy your mind more than worrying about your work. Could you possibly take a short holiday with your family, recharge your batteries?
Do not despair we are all here for you

Hi Sunflower,

I'm really sorry to hear your job is making you feel unwell. That's a tough rut to be in. I was just noticing that you have some hobbies similar to my own. Do you get to take any time out for reading and painting? I see that you're currently in child care. Maybe you could write and illustrate childrens books? I hope this isn't out of line, I'm new to these forums. I was just thinking if these are things that you do enjoy, perhaps you could sort of change your career direction gradually to something you love to do. Unfortuantely I don't know the details of your situation and maybe that's not possible. Just a thought. I hope you feel better soon!

I am kind of stuck right now.

I am still panicky and filled with dread and anxiety about my job. I wonder if I will ever feel alright.

I am in a job that is driving me crazy but am terrified of making a change to a new one! I really don't know how to cope.

I want to just have a job that I go to and do, not one that preoccupies so much of my off time.
