Hello Poobear:  Welcome to the site.  I hope you have started reading the CBT Program.  I get the what I call the "dizzies" every now and then.  I use the relaxation techniques which work well for me.  And those 10 questions too. I hope you give them a try.  Post often and keep asking questions.  We are here listening and to support you along your journey to wellness.

Welcome Poobear,

This program has helped many individuals.  If you put the work into it you will see results.  Start with session one and make a plan for yourself regarding when you want to work on the program.  Also, be sure to reward yourself for completing sessions.  It is a lot of reading and hard work but it is worth it.

It sounds like you really want to get a handle on your anxiety and your symptoms.  How could controlling your anxiety change your life?

Welcome to the site.  Can I assume there is no physical reason to feel this way. You are not diabetic, hypoglycaemic or have runaway blood pressure problems.

This being the case all that is left is Panic disorder and the program definitely works.

You don't have syncope? You don't actually pass out? It only feels that way? Is there anything that will make it go away? is there anything specific that sets it off? I would imagine over six years you have managed to compound the fear with a fear of the fear. CBT works but you need some relaxation skills and coping skills to go with the Ten questions. It is all hear in the program along with friendly people that will help you as best as they can.

Here for you,
Davit.

Hi poobear101. This is a tough feeling for me lately too. The program has some worksheets that help you fight thoughts like this and chapter 3 has these questions to help fight thoughts like that:

10 Questions that Help Fight Anxious Thoughts
1.   Is it "true"?
2.   How do I know it’s true?
3.   Is the anxious thought 100% true? (Something less than 100% true is not true)
4.   What's the evidence for it being true?
5.   What's the evidence against it being true?
6.   Has it ever happened before?
7.   What's different now?
8.   How bad would it really be?
9.   What's the worst thing that could happen?
10. If the worst thing happened, how bad would it really be?

I know sometimes it's really hard to believe that there's nothing wrong with you, and I'm struggling with that myself. But I go over these questions and do a worksheet and do some breathing exercises when it becomes overwhelming. In my case, I know I'm psyching myself out and obsessing and that's contributing to the feeling. Just accepting that what I'm experiencing is anxiety and panic helps me.

Hi.  Im struggling so bad in connection with the sensation that im going to pass out.  I have this every day from waking up, its off the scale & lasts for hours.  Ive had panic disorder for more than 6 years now.  Can anyone help me with the cognative approach to help me.  Its so disabling it sets my fear so extreme.  thanks
