Hi Jen,
You have nothing to be embarrassed about. On one of the threads we wrote down what scares us and it was amazing the number of things that freak us out. On this site you never have to worry that others will judge you or your fears. How can we, we are all in the same boat.
Diva gave some wonderful advice to another person who was also having difficulty driving so if you can find it I think it will help. One thing she mentioned was if it was possible to have someone with that person while they were driving just in case. I would choose someone who is aware of your fears and is supportive of you.
Best of luck
Hiya Jen! I am glad that you felt it helped to write this and share with us. And you don't have to be embarrassed. I don't drive. Want to know why I don't drive? Because I don't have a driver's license. And why is that? Because I am terrified of even driving at all! You are tackling something I haven't even begun to tackle and I find you very brave for it. When I took my driving lessons ( a long time ago...) I had to take the highway, I was so was so scared of the highway that I quit driving lessons and didn't learn to drive at all. Now you have a driver's license and you are tackling highways as we speak. I find you incredibly brave and I salute your efforts.
And as Casey said, don't feel bad for sharing with us. When I read your post and ConquerQueens posts about her driving issues and many other's posts about how they are tackling this it actually makes me hopeful that even though I am hmm, let's just say older then the average driving student, I will one day get my driver's license and drive. All of you trying so hard, inspire me and thank you for sharing Jen and all of you in this group :)

Hi Jen93,
Please don't ever feel that you have to apologize for sharing your thoughts here. Remember that is why we are all here - to learn from one another. Feel free to jump on the site anytime and share!
Let all of your previous successes continue to guide your progress as you work towards this new goal on Sunday. Fear of driving is a very common concern. You may want to use the search feature on the site to view other's experiences with this concern to see that you are definitely not alone.
Keep us posted,
Casey

I feel like I am starting all over again. I have been doing so good for weeks. And now here I am, starting to have these anxiety attacks again. I know what is triggering them, and I don't want to avoid the situation. I really need to tackle this situation. It is such a simple thing to do. I don't know why I am having a hard time doing it. I am almost embarrest to share with anyone how scared I am to do this. All I have to do is drive down the highway. I have been doing it a little every week. about a mile or so, but this sunday I have to go about 5 miles. I really want to do this, and I know I can do it. I guess I am only trying to prep myself for it and this is really helping me. Sorry for anyone that really reads this, but it is really helping me just to talk about it. Thanks for letting talk.
