Hi there. I am new to this site too. I used an alias 'oscar' but I'm really a young woman in my late twenties and a therapist. I find it so comforting that there are other people who share the annoying and sometimes debilitating nature of panic. And to Kristyn, who has a long drive ahead....the good news is, you will be fine. I find it helpful to remember that a panic attack can't physically last forever, your body gets too tired. and eventually the seratonin kicks in (with or without medication) to calm your system. I also find it helpful to say "panic is just a physiological phenomenon and i am reacting to it on an emotional level by being afraid.....but if I take some deep breaths, pay attention to the road...no matter what, this too shall pass". Instead of wishing that you won't have a panic attack on the drive, can you say "if this happens, i know what it is and i know that i'm always fine". ?
