Thank you Tiluli, I need all the positive energy I can get! Rough day today. She had a small partial seizure today. I knew it was coming, so I sent her to bed. She stayed in bed for over 2 hours and it seemed to help. Guess it's going to get worse before it gets better! But now my anxiety is a level 12. I'm going to be "on guard" for the next few days. I am so burned out! But thanks for the positive thoughts! I need them!

Hi, Well, one doctor told her that she must have suffered a blow to the head, which started a chain reaction. But the other doctor in Denver said No, it could have just been the fact that she has seizures, or her seizures caused the brain to shrink. No one is sure, not even me. I know she's hit her head, but didn't think it was hard enough to do that kind of damage. I guess I just have to leave it to the doctor's now. Thanks, Lorie

Wow, that's sounds like you and your partner have been through quite an emotional ordeal. It sound like there some hope from the doctors so that is promising. I don't know if you have mentioned in your other post what have to her in the first place to cause this condition? Your partner must really appreciate you right now even if she can't fully express it. You have been a faithful friend. Keep us informed on her progress. And don't forget to take care of you too! :)

Hi, I wanted to let all those who have talked to me through this horrible time an update on my partners doctor's visit. She went to Denver today to talk about her brain surgery. After a 2 hour consultation, the doctor wants to run 3 more tests even before she will consider surgery. One, she has to go and stay at the hospital for 3-5 days, where they will take her off all her medications and wait for her to have a seizure. They hope that she will have at least 3 while she's there. Second, they want to run a catheter from her crotch to her brain and run dye in her brain to see the damage. AND they want to, at the same time, run a drug into her brain that puts half of it to sleep, and do the same to the other side. Guess to check out the damage from a different point. Third, they want her to have an all day neurological study. Where they make her do things and watch her, mentally and physically. When all the tests are run, then they are going to gather a team of brain surgeons and doctor's and decide the next step. They need to do the test to make sure that removing the part of the brain that they need to doesn't interfere with her ability to talk. Or they could do it and she will lose ALL of her memory. Well, now that it's over I can take a breather. But now comes the next stage. And all these tests can take up to a year to get done. Being that the hospital that she's going to, which is a fantasitic hospital, is so booked that sometimes it takes months to get in. Heck, she's had this appointment for today since May. But I wanted to let all who responded what was going on. And to thank you again for being there. It really helped! Thanks, Lorie
