Eyesight and Panic??

for 19 år siden 0 222 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I always get blurry vision when I'm anxious. Especially in public places like stores. I don't think blurry vision causes panic - but I do know that panic causes blurry vision. If you get panicky after noticing your blurry vision, it is because of your thought patterns when you notice the blurry vision. You expect a panic attack and so one comes on. What you tell yourself in whatever the situation is, will determine how you react in regards to anxiety and panic. When you notice your eyes getting blurry, instead of saying, oh no my eyes are blurry, I'm going to panic.... say to yourself, I know my eyes get blurry when I'm feeling anxious so that is why my eyes are blurry now and I know I will get through it and be ok because I have so many times before and this time is no different. I know it sounds strange, but it does work. You probably need to get some glasses. As far the dialated pupils go, I would have a doctor look at it. If for nothing else but to put your mind at ease. I have read that eyes dialate when the 'fight of flight' instinct kicks in though. Panic is the 'fight or flight' response.

When I feel a panic attack coming on I usually get dizzy and nauseous....and that tends to affect my eyesight... Perhaps, you should speak with your doctor.... Hang in there... B

Hi guys, Do any of you know whether eyesight can affect panic? My fiance noticed that my pupils are always big and I have been told before that if you maybey have trouble focusing long distance then that can give you panic attacks. I think that is because, say when I'm in a shopping mall (rare thing!) I panic heaps and we're wondering if it's because I'm looking long distance and my eyes aren't focusing and because my vision is blurry and one of the sypmtoms of panic is blurred vision, that when that happens my brain thinks I'm having a panic attack so I actually do end up having one - but it is actually just bad vision....did that make sense?! Has anyone else had experiences with this at all? I might go and get my eyes tested to see if there are any problems with my vision. Wouldn't it be nice to think that just by getting glasses my panic might ease a bit!
