natural alternatives to meds?

for 19 år siden 0 243 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I started taking Flax Seed oil capsules with Omega 3 -- a lot of the fish oils have omega 3 and I have read that this is very helpful...I read this in a book as I also do not want to take medication...but am still on Zoloft and Klonopin... Here is the name of the book: Healing with no Freud or no Prozac (UK) and in the US -- Instinct to Heal by Dr. David Servan-Schreiber I hope this helps. Best, B

I have depression also w/the anxiety and it really helps w/that. most of the meds the drs. prescribe I can't take due to the side effects (they make me nauseous, dizzy, spacey and sex drive leaves completely!). I take 1 capsule twice a day which is 600mg. the normal dosage people take is 900mg/day, but i have found if i go to high it makes me dizzy. i also take a multi along w/omega 3's and 6's. all are supposed to promote brain health (I need all the help I can get!) The only thing I would suggest is to go to a good brand name and not just any OTC brand. If you go to a health food store, they can really help you out. I've had better luck working w/them than with a dr. The will listen to what your needs are. Let me know if you try it and if it works for you.

Charley....tell me about your experience with St. John's Wort? I know that has an effect on the serotonin. How much do you take...how long have you been taking it...any bad effects? One of the ones that looked real interesting was Anxius...says it even corrects relapse by 90%... I have been hesitating about taking something that messed with the serotonin cause I had such a bad experience with Zoloft which is supposed to do that....I sure wish there was some REAL concrete information as to is there really a chemical imbalance..if so what...and how much of what is supposed to but the balance back. I know that GABA, 5-HTP also regulates brain chemical but then the old question..how much, how long and can you stop taking it? One of the formulas said that you had to wean off even tho it's natural which sorta tells me that if you go messing around with the serotonin either naturally or with drugs you're gonna wind up with a problem if you stop taking it. THe other two were Anxietol7 and Clarocet (which is pushed a LOT).. Please keep me informed with feedback if anyone tries these things. I've been agoraphobic for 44 years and nothing has worked...this week has been really bad and coming to wit's end....

i use st johns wort and it does work for the thoughts and mood. i ordered the anxietol and alot of the components in it are your basic vitamins. for a calming affect, alot of natural suppliments us what is called kava kava or valerian root. it does work, but they combine them with alot of b vitamins which can keep you up at night. You can purchase alot of these supplements at your local health food stores. I've had a better success rate with the natural items rather than the drs. meds. less side effects.

I have been looking at natural alternatives to drugs and was wondering if anyone had an experience with them. Some of them are supposed to work on the serotonin also. Of course one of the problems is who do you ask questions of, like how much, how long, etc. Sort of hit and miss. Some of the ones I looked at have been Anxius, Anxietol7, Clarocet and Seredyn. Has anyone had any experience with things like this?
