Hi Gina,
Perhaps, you should speak to your doctor about your concerns regarding Lexapro -- there is a lot of info. on the internet or alternatively you can take a look in a medical book and they should have some information...
I know it is difficult to take medication, but maybe the Lexapro might help with the anxiety....
Let me know how you are...
Take care,
B
Hey, I have been taking Lexapro for two months. It has definitely help with the level of anxiety. Whereas, I was calling people to come stay with me because I was having all day panic attacks, I can now stay by myself. I still sense some anxiety but the lexapro helps keep the symptoms at bay. I am now getting ready to start some exposure work. My doctor gave me xanax to take as needed for the first three weeks until the lexapro kicked in. That was a lifesaver. Good luck.
You rained on mine,i know you meant well, but i hear really good things on this medicine..Never heard of as a medicine that quit working, more of a drug that is mostly for depression, not really tested in anxiety..Gina its new to the market im going to try it soon no matter what, its like effexor i hear..i will research on it..

My husband took lexapro and it did help him alot. For awhile..... I did some research on it and it is not proven to be effective after 8 weeks. In other words, IT STOPS WORKING. I guess that would be a med for a situational anxiety but not for chronic anxiety and panic. Hope I dodn't rain on your parade or anything. Take care Gina.
