Working on it, Thank you for your support. Physically I feel better, I am able to take much deeper breaths without any pain or tightness. No wheezing! That's got to be good. A few things have happened in past few weeks, that had I still been smoking I would be very worried. The most notable difference is the reduction of stress related to smoking. I have, however, had to seek medical advice for depression which has been linked to me taking Champix. Now I have an appointment to see a cardiologist next week. I was told by my GP that sometimes this can cause problems with depression and the heart. So hopefully this is just to check! Overall it can only get better. No smoking for me today. As you say......Slow and steady wins the race! Viv

Ashley I think the most important thing that i have learned from this quit is , I now recognise that I need to actively work at keeping it. I know I am at risk and feel that I can't afford to take it for granted. I recall in the past managing a six month quit and felt quite safe, yet succumbed to the demon too readily. No this time I must try to remain actively involved here. I need to look forward taking just one day at a time. Viv

Congratulations on 9 weeks! That is an accomplishment. How are you feeling now, in comparison to 9 weeks ago?

Wow!

Congratulations. What an inspiration you are; in your quit and marriage

What is one of the most important things you have learned about yourself going through this quit?

Hey Viv

A huge congratulations on your achievement both in not smoking and also in your marriage.  One day at a time and life does get easier.  Keep up the great work and continued success.

I like to start the week on a positive note. I want to remind myself and anyone else who's interested that I have completed a further week of not smoking. On retiring last night I completed week NINE! I feel it does help to keep reminding ourselves just what we are achieving. It also strengthens my resolve to stick with the programme. Today is extra special for me as, I have also completed FORTY THREE YEARS of marriage. So today, I commence week ten and year forty four! There will be plenty of celebrations today! This coming week I will not be smoking but hoping to notch up more days as a non smoker, taking it one day at a time. Have a good week everyone. N.O.P.E. Viv
