Well here you are!  Snice to have you back!  Good for you for making this discovery and showing signs of bravery to come back here and post again.  It does take some courage to come back and 'fess up, but oh so worth it - for your self esteem, conscience and future health!  Hell week done again!  Good for you!

You will be free from it Snice. This was just a lesson you needed to go through to reinforce what you already know - you really want to be smoke free.

Many members have went on to have their permanent quit after a slip like this and I have a hunch that is what will happen for you. How can you remind yourself of these feelings if the addiction and anxiety start playing with your mind again?   What is something concrete you can do, look at or hold on to to ground yourself if this happens again?

Hi Ashley

I learned that having a smoke whenever I feel anxious does nothing for the situation.  Everytime I lit up I felt horrible and guilty about it.  I also had to hide from my family and was embarassed.  It's just not worth it, I want to be free from them and free from thinking about it every 10 minutes.

Glad to hear you are back at it and already threw Hell Week. Congrats!

It sounds like this slip was good for you. What did you learn from it?

Hi all, I have been afraid to show myself in here lately... after going on vacation I slipped and started smoking again.  I wasn't ready to come back here until I knew I was serious about quitting and was going to give it my all.  I'm proud to say I have 8 smoke free days in and I'm actually finding it easier this time.  I'm avoiding any "trigger" situations and have asked for more support from my family.  It's great to be back!
