I do have to say I think Summer is the hardest time to not smoke...but then again that was the month I QUITE was June 2011! A trigger to make me THINK about smoking is the summertime to not EAT!
BUT the way I stop triggers is when I am in a public place I can smell the smoke for miles it seems now...HA HA...I remove myself and then say to myself how I feel bad for that person that is really killing them self and taking time off of their lives to see their children or grandchildren grow up.
My triggers come and I STILL COUNT! I do NOT get past 5 and it is gone. So love the counting....but for newbies.....It was not 5 seconds at first...it was longer and it was more frequent also. BUT IF I CAN DO IT YOU CAN TO!
Summer is a fun time that can be packed with great activities, barbeques, picnics, get-togethers and cottages.
While enjoying the summer with your friends and family don’t be afraid to say “no”. If anyone offers you a cigarette tell them about you new lifestyle and how good you’re feeling. Embrace these changes by being active and encouraging others to get active with you. Members, how do you avoid or say no to potential trigger situations?
