I have the same thing, Kevin. My cough started after about 7 days. On previous quit attempts, I've experienced coughing the very first day and not at all.
I'm telling myself the cough means my body knows this quit is for real so it's going to clean out my lungs for fresh air instead of holding everything in as some sort of protection against the smoke, heheh.
It absolutely can be normal. Each quit is different and each body will react differently. Take the time to check with your doctor to rule out anything medical, if this persists.
My Doctor told me that could happen. Something to do with the tiny hairs in the Bronchial tubes; and their healing. She did not however say how long it would last for.
So i have been smoke free for 11 days now.My cravings have dwindled to nothing now.I went the whole with not one craving.I have this cough that just kind of came from nowhere. My wife says it's normal after you quit smoking.Other than that I'm great and enjoying really living life.
