Hey thanks everyone for your reply.I did have a ekg done last august and blood work, everything came out normal. My doctor just tells me to talk to someone, but this forum has helped me out alot.I started having anxiety about 2 years ago after watching my grandmother die.Lately I been having more good days than bad.My mother was diagnosed with afib, where her heart will beat out of control and I think thats where my anxiety comes in when I check my heart rate. Most of the time my heart rate is at 90 when I do go to the gym and check my heart rate on the handle sensors it shows 115 right away and I think thats what freaked me out. Thanks again ;)

stressed girl those sensors can be wrong. i have an eliptical machine that i use daily. i got worried the first time i saw my pulse was very high after running for just a few minutes. then your pulse goes up even higher because you get scared. then next time stop what your doing and check your pulse yourself. i bet you'll be suprised that it is at a normal rate for exercising. also, anything can make those pulse sensors mess up ( even the ones you strap to your chest) cell phone, a walkman radio, etc. can make those sensors act up. because they send out waves. ever notice at the hospital or doctors office to turn your cell phones off in certain areas.

Hi! Yes I have a fast pulse also and especially if I get nervous. Sometimes it races for seemingly no reason. I had a echo of my heart and it was normal. Some medications make it worse, like Sudafed and some cold meds so dont freak if it causes your heart to beat faster cause it does that to alot of people. Ask your doc if you are not sure. But yeah, i'd get the test/s JUST to reafirm your own secure feelings about it. It made me feel better. Hope this helps.

Hey Stressed Girl! I always freak out about my heart rate also! I check my rate constantly throughout the day - it makes me crazy! I have read that your heart rate changes naturally throughout the day for many different reasons and that it is completely safe and normal. Your heart rate being that high when you work out is normal. The only time you need to worry about that is if your heart rate doesn't go back down to normal after awhile. Also if you get so short of breath that you are gasping for air and / or having chest pains, then you would need to get medical help. But, your heart rate increasing during exercise by itself is completely normal and healthy. I know most of us have had lots of heart tests done over the years so I was wondering if you have also. Trust your doctors results. There are amazing things that can be done these days for heart issues. A couple years ago my mother was on a heart transplant list because the bottom of her heart had actually died! The doctor gave her some medicine while she was waiting on the list and the medication actually healed her heart and she hasn't had problems since! I also have major heart phobias so I remind myself of this when I start panicking about it. I hope that helps!
