Key West!!! I heard that Florida is the only state in the US without snow this week, so let's go to Key West to escape the snow! We'll stop at the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, Harry S Truman Little White House, and the Key West Lighthouse and Keeper's Quarters Museum. We can take pictures at the Southern Most Point in the US! Who's up for a catamaran ride to see the dolphins and other marine life off the coast?
For an afternoon snack, we'll stop at Flamingo Crossing, famous for their fresh homemade ice cream, with flavors such as Cuban coffee, raspberry cappuccino, coconut piña colada, key lime, passion fruit, and green tea, among others. We'll spend the afternoon fishing, shopping, or just laying out and soaking in the rays, with plenty of sunscreen of course!
For dinner, we'll stop at A&B Lobster House, a Key West Institution among seafood lovers! In addition to Maine and Florida lobster, the classic menu includes traditional oyster and clam stews as well as pan roasts prepared by slow-roasting oysters, clams, mussels, and lobsters, then adding them to a broth of fresh herbs and vegetables with a touch of cream and sherry. For those who don't like seafood, don't worry! They also serve steaks and pasta dishes! After dinner we'll head over to Ernest Hemingway's favorite hangout, the world famous Sloppy Joe's Bar, for after dinner drinks and coffee! All aboard!!!
