Tabby..sorry I was just wandering because i remember you posting about craving the lozenges..I ask my counselor today and she said there was a slight chance of getting addicted but as long as we use them correctly then it is slim to none..Good luck and let me know how it goes..
thanks Rock..I should have re read over every post I made prior to today and re learned all that was being taught..
Bob...I won them for those days and tried to give them up today..I am not giving anymore up though..I was doing it right and then jumped off course but i am back on the right path now..It is hard to sleep when you got three kids to take care of and can't sleep..

Hey Spacecas, lots of folks here used NRT's to quit. They are what they are, a helpful item to get you through. I used the patch and it was over 60 some days before I was nicotine free. Don't let that get you down. Each day that you get through without smoking is one more day of freedom and each week it gets better and better. Keep on plugging away, one day at a time, or even one hour at a time, if need be. It is so very much worth the fight. Yes some days you will be very tired of fighting the mental battle, and some days you will fell like you can conquer the world. Hang in there, let NOT ONE PUFF EVER take you to your freedom!

Spacecas...hang in there!! Things will get better. I've noticed that every week I feel something different. The first week was actually pretty easy, I was really excited to quit. Week two I was irrate all the time. This week I feel kind of lonley and don't quite know what to do with myself. So the way you feel now will pass and you'll feel something totally different. I can look back at some of the things I said and did last week and laugh, because they were so ridiculous. Just keep on going!!! You can do it!!!! My Milage:
My Quit Date: 7/21/2009 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 165 Amount Saved: $82.50 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 34 Seconds: 42
Do whatever your heart tells you to do. Using an aid to stop lighting up is the thing to do if it helps you. In time you will be able to put the lozenges down as well. As for the mental part of this journey know that whatever you go through people will understand and rest assured that others have been there. Keep asking questions if you feel like you are alone in your feelings.
When you get some time under your belt, the emotional rollercoaster will start to level out. I remember not believing that sometimes but as time goes on your perspective will change and the addiction will begin to lose power.
Hang in there and know that many here are wishing you well!!

Spacecas, everybody has a different journey to becoming smoke free. Some quit on the first try, some have a couple practice rounds. Some fight the nicodemon each and every day, others aren't bothered by him that often. Some use NRTs, some go Cold Turkey. Some read "the book", others read every post here at the SSC. You are fighting an addiction, and the addict in you will keep trying to pull you back. Just know that you are beating him! And no matter what he throws your way, you will continue to beat him. He no longer controls your life! Do whatever you need to do, just keep saying N.O.P.E. the entire journey!

hey Spacecas... I'm not sure if I am addicted to the lozenges, but I crave them instead of cigarettes... to me that is good.... would be much worst if I craved the smokes I'm sure. I am slowly cutting down and hopefully will not have too many problems getting off of them.. :o)

Tabby...do you feel addicted to the lozenges? Since I started using them I feel like I want them more and more now?
Thank you Finally free..look at you with 14 days..your doing so good..
Brenda..you are so right about the mental part..The ones of us who have mental problems fight every day of our lives to feel good any way. so it is hard to keep fighting when doing this is making you feel horrible..i am not struggling to stay smoke free it is easy just say no but, i don't feel good even when the temptation is high and I refuse to give in..I don't know what the problem is but i go back to the doctor the 12th maybe she can add some light to this..
No don't worry everyone I am not going to give in..I just was wandering if anyone else felt like this..Maybe it will get better soon..thanks everyone for all the support and encouragement..stay strong and well..
