Biddy

Yes you are correct, we used this addiction as a kind of therapy session and convinced ourselves that we could not live without it.  But the truth is that we never needed it in the first place.  It is just that the nicotine effect is a quiet temptation.  It enters our lives on cat's paws, sneaking into our way of being and eventually making itself a permanent part of our psychological and emotional makeup.  Try not to be frightened of it, try instead to understand the reasons that you have allowed it a home.

It can be difficult at times to look over the horizon, especially when the craves are strong and you are in a vulnerable place.  But look you must and when you do, you will find the view that will allow you to withstand the temporary situation that temps you to engage in the cycle that is the well worn path of this addiction.
