You are simply smoking a cigarette to feed yourself nicotine to satisfy your addiction to nicotine. Nicotine is absorbed instantly into the body & takes 45 minutes to leave. That empty feeling you feel shortly after a cigarette is just nicotine withdrawal kicking in. We smoke to keep the 'empty feeling' away cos thats when we are relaxed / calm / happy.
To completely satisfy your addiction you would need to chain smoke & as most of us can't afford to do this, we limit ourselves to 'just a few' cigarettes an hour but we reward ourselves with extra ciggies on special occasions, which just reinforces the addiction. Do you honestly want to live the rest of your days like this ?
Smoking is just an expensive legalised addiction that eventually kills you & yes I've seen the consequences first hand.

I look at the cost of smoking not thinking about how much a pack costs. In Mexico right now is about 2.75 us dlls.
I consider the increase in the amount of the health care premium. I also consider the days of work or any productive labor lost to complications of smoking; the burden to the social security system; the extra viist to the dentist and the extra pap smears, just because you are at a higher risk of disease.
