I have two opnions on this from my short research.  One is that that stale smell is awful and now that I'm free of it I'll sometimes take a shower immediately after returning home if I'm visiting a smoking friend.  I can understand why others find it bothersome and I suppose that it is POSSIBLE that it MAY pose a health risk; however, I don't see much evidence to back that up besides those commercials on TV that are kinda goofy.  My second opinion is that the least effective way to get someone to quit is getting in their face about it.  As time moves forward less and less people are taking up smoking and eventually it will either fade away or be outlawed.  And if it's outlawed it'll get worse because you'll have nicotine dealers and man it will be a big mess.  People everyday are quitting and if those people could only just stay positive and not get aggresive towards smokers I think they will eventually quit on their own.  But that's just my humble opinion.  Maybe we should strap em to a bed until the nicotine is out of their system.  Oh wait, that doesn't matter because a lot of people quit long enough for the nicotine to be out of their system and still go back.  I did countless times before this quit.

I think trying to fight smokers and pass laws to limit every facet of their being is the wrong approach personally.  You need to take the associations away so they won't feel their world will colapse the minute they quit.  It happens everyday.  We say "What if I can't do my job as well."  "What if my pleasure of driving will not be as good without one."  These are the key factors that keep someone smoking.  We as quitters need to lead the way by being positive and showing others that we are still that same person we were before only better.  That will help more.

All the best,

Mr Q
