OMG I can smell again

Peteg,

Hilarious!  Cats can smell nice too if you give them a bath

Members, noticed any other good or bad smells since your quit?

And how BAD cats can smell ALL THE TIME?? If anything drives me back to smoking, it will be the smell of cats.  How can people like cats?  For 35 years I had no clue what they smelled like, so I'm like, "Sure, Honey, you get as many cats as you want.  YIKES.  My house smells!!  Who knew??

But, he said slyly, the upside of this is that whole "rewards" thing.  I can spend what I paid for a carton of cigarettes (pre-Virginia 40-cent additional tax!!) on Kenneth Cole cologne (RSVP is a personal favorite, at 50 bucks a bottle!) and make sure I smell better than my crummy house full of cats.  I just LOVE that!!

Oh come on.  WHO would smoke when for the same price we can wear Kenneth Cole and smell better than cats?  (And when we smoked, we had no clue that the cats smelled a thousand times better than we did!)

Still, I think that a Marlboro would go down pretty smooth right now. It would NOT!  It would make me sick, jumpy, smelly, and incapable of responding with any degree of authenticity to these wonderful discussions.  (To which, no doubt, many subscribers will respond, "Go smoke, pete!  Get OUT of here you self-righteous windbag!")  Okay.  Got that.  Will go to my happy place, without cigarettes.

My clothes actually smell like my fabric softner, not stale smoke.
My house smells sooo much better (except for the other day when I fried salmon patties).
I have become so hypersensitive to smells, and, unfortunately, like Hot Si, I eat more as well...OMG---have you noticed how good sausage smells as it is cooking?

In addition to smelling better (your nose), you'll also be smelling better (your smoke free body)!  I loved when somebody gave me a hug during the first couple weeks of my quit and said that I smelled good.  That was when I knew I was a non-smoker.  I no longer smelled like cigarette smoke!  So, both ways of smelling better is awesome!

Hey Everyone!!!

You'll all notice a better sense of smell!!  One of the many benefits of becoming a Non-Smoker!!!  One little problem in my case....   SMELL MORE  =  EAT MORE!!!  Sooooo worth it, though!!!

This was also one of my first observations.  I came into the house the second night and noticed that we have 2 dogs!!!!!!  Not sure it is any better than smoke, but at least it isn't me that is stinking up the place.

Keep up the great efforts......

I have to agree with Pat, the newly returned heightened sense of smell is not always a good thing! But glad to hear yours has returned regardless!

Caligirl,
Lol, sometimes that improved sense of smell is great....sometimes not.  At least you can the difference between the good and the bad.

You must be thrilled to see things improving.  Congrats on your fabulous quit!
