Congratulations on making the decision to quit! Feelings of your quit and how you feel will range from person to person. What is normal to you? Think of yourself as a non smoker, you should be very proud of yourself and with time it will get better. Come here often and keep your guard up at all times.
It's very good that you don't feel like smoking during your first week! They call it hell week for a reason!
It's different for every smoker, but I can see you have it in you, you're doing great!
Apparently you have your mind set that not smoking is more important than smoking, and that's the first step to success!
I'm close to day 45, and I can tell you that it gets better than you can think.. But don't think about the far future, go one day at the time and you will do just fine!
I guess you have already used the program tools which is very helpful to find out your smoking patterns and get motivated, since you know and have planned how to cope with cravings.
Also, a lot of reading here can give you very useful tips. And the people here are amazing, you will get more support than you could ask for!

To answer your question... it all gets better! Everybody is different but most everyone says that the first week and the week after are the worst then it all starts to normalize. We all have find our new "normal" without cigarettes but at least you won't feel like you do now.
I bumped up a post in the New Users Forum called "A Duffis Re-post". It's a good, humorous way to look at the first stages of quitting!
The first three days are when the nicotine is leaving your body. From now on, it's all a mental mostly! Keep up the good fight with a positive attitude which is soooooooo important!!! You will be happy you quit! Have you read the Alan Carr book.. "the easy way to quit smoking" ? It is very good to help foster a positive approach!
Keep up the good work!
