Dear Gina, I did not know whether to laugh or cry when I read your post about the DOctor! He sounds like a real pip! Maybe that is just his style laid-back and casual, but I know you probably prefer like me to have a professional mature Doctor. I take Zoloft and I started very very slow like 12.5 every other day then worked up, I prefer Paxil it calmed me more, I know it can cause weight gain in some not all people, I find Zoloft more activating than Paxil. I don't know too much about the time-released Xanax, I took regular Xanax a few years ago, it really did not help too much, it wore off too quickly, I take Klonopin now, it lasts longer. I feel so bad for you about the Doctor's appt, I have had my share of quacks too, thats why I never go unless I am "pulled by wild horses" I still have NOT started my period, my husband is very upset, I would of loved another child, but now that I have hit forty I would be scared to death of a abnormal child, I would love any child, but I have a special-needs one now {speech and AddH not too severe} I would start the meds very slowly and see how they are, you can cut the Zoloft in half I know, ask him about Lorazapam, that worked so well for me, it took away so much anxiety and helped me sleep but did not linger too long in my system. I hope you have recovered from your visit today, I know it took alot for you to go, I have had a bad day, I woke up and the room was spinning around, like I was drunk or something, complete vertigo! THank GOd it went away, with this ear whoosing and my monthly being late, I am so very panicky and shaky. Please let me know how you are doing. Maybe he is not a bad Doctor in the sense of the word, just different and unorthodox, the meds he prescibed sounds like he knows what he is saying at least. I hope you are doing better. Debbie.
