Hi, Paula. So you had a weird-bad night on the sauce. You might want to go find a Yoga or Tai Chi class to join up to get rid of that tension. Good that you're seeing somebody about the stresses in your life right now.... Thinking about ya and hoping that you find a road less travelled than the racetrack you're on right now....

Good for you on coming here when you were feeling the heat!
Seems things are kinda chaotic right now for you, and that's when you used to smoke - so it's great that you're getting through this without smoking. Have a reward - you deserve it!

It sounds like you are having a little anxiety attack..racing heart, weird taste in your mouth. But, you have done the right thing, crawled into bed! Bravo! After quitting smoking, it took me a period of time to learn how to accomplish one task after the other. I was so used to those smoke breaks in between. So, have some breaks in mind for studying...study for a while, have some gum, stretch, get a coffee. Arrange for your sis for a while, grab a snack, some tea, and walk around the block, then back to work. We looked forward to those smoke breaks. Now, we need to take the breaks, but have something else to look forward to. Do not allow yourself the option of smoking ie (if there were smokes in the house, I would smoke them). Smoking cannot be an option to lifes' situations. We can live without it, healthier and happier. And remember, smoking is a choice and you CHOOSE LIFE. Don't let it get back a hold of you. You are doing great..stick with the quit.

I'm really glad to see that you made it last night without caving in. It shows how strong you have really become in the face of adversity and anxiety. YOU ARE ALL THAT !!! I admire you very much for the way you can bounce back.
Reading some of your previous posts has inspired me to keep on keeping on when I felt too tired or weak to do it.
So....... be gentle with yourself today, tomorrow is just around the corner.

Thanks for your help. I just got into my pj's last night and got under the duvet. I think this is just normal everyday worry and anxiety, I've just never really experienced it without puffing away so that's probably why it felt so strange. Still feeling strange but at least its the weekend! I've been thinking a lot about exams that I have in September that I really have to start working on, I reckon that's whats causing this. I have never studied or sat exams for the past 11 years without smoking! Even at school, as a kid of 12-13 I'd be around the back hiding and having a smoke with my friends before the tests! (If my parents had known what I was spending my allowance on, I would have been hung, drawn and quartered!).
My sister is moving home next month, she's been away for 2 years so I have alot of rearranging to do in the house to get it ready and it just keeps getting messy and I'm only in this job four months so I have to work my *** off and when I get home I just want to sleep never mind studying or cleaning! Just gotta keep it cool and calm!
I'll check in later, thanks for all your help again! I really appreciate it!

Paula, your almost at 50 days, I think you may be getting some 50 day craves. I am not good on the anxiety end of it because I have to take medication for it. The smoking masked it, if I would not have gotten medication, I never would have made it, so I know what you are talking about with those feelings. I hope you are feeling better today, after a nights rest.

Well, you've helped me by posting during my first week. Now its my turn to tell you to hand over the "weird feelings". I'm already grumpy anyways (as I posted about 2 minutes ago) and I could use some more attitude (haha). Anyways, you seem so strong when you've posted to me. Please dont give up your quit. You have 45 days that I wished I had already i n my stats. Be strong and at least you came here!!
