Wow, ya'all...look at Rusty's "cigs not smoked" ..fricking 65,000!!! Way to go Crik. You can do this. You quit for 10 years? Choose not to smoke so you don't have to go through this ever again. NO MORE..NOPE; not one puff ever. The cravings pass whether you smoke or not; so make the right choice. Hang in there.

HI Crik, the part of the meter that I like best is number of cigarettes NOT SMOKED.  That really hit home for me how far I came each day.

Hi Crik and congrats on your six days smoke free! The quit meter still helps me out on rough days. I don't want to set it back to zero...too much work to get this far. I forgot, when i was at my first week I felt the very same as you. I didn't want any more time added on to my life if it was going to be as hard as it was then!! Thanks for the memories! And trust me....it does get easier. If it didn't I would be smoking by now. Stay strong!

Crik,
I'm a little behind you but glad to see others starting out like me on the boards.  When I first signed up I didn't see any new quitters so I'm glad to see some now. I love everyones help on these boards, especially the longterm quitters. It sure makes a difference in my approach.  By now I know I'd be feeling much more sorry for myself if I didn't get all the good support around here.

Must be nice to finish up Hell Week soon.
Ron

Way to go Crik, 5 days is great and what's even better is your attitude is still holding strong.
I feel the same way you do about the time gained.....but everything I read tells me we will look at the differently as the quit goes on.  Hold on to the thoughts of how if felt when you quit for the 10ish years,  We can and will do this!

Actualy, Crik, this is my first serious attempt to quit smoking after a lifetime of it.  I had every intention of it being the one and only and so was quite amazed that it's working.  Usually, I operate by Murphy's Law.  Either Chantix is a miracle drug or it was what I needed or I was just motivated.  I didn't find SSC until January and when my stats came up, I almost fell off the chair.  Now I keep on keeping on just to watch the stats build.   It's not easy and I still fight craves, but, boy oh boy, those stats are a motivation - aside from the money I'm saving.
My Milage:

My Quit Date: 11/22/2007
Smoke-Free Days: 210
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,200
Amount Saved: $1,302.00
Life Gained:
Days: 26 Hrs: 22 Mins: 59 Seconds: 20

I did it without nicotine yesterday.  I gotta say that this mileage chart helps me.  Because when I see that I will now live 18 more minutes, I start laughing.  18 more minutes of this??? yeah right.

I have quit twice in my life for 10ish years.  I know how good it is and I want it again very much.  Its just if I can stay strong during the cravings. I had the first biggish one yesterday and I'm here today to tell the story!!!!

And hello to all you other beginners.  I read your posts and I'm with you!
