Dealing with the rough times

for 16 år siden 0 744 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
When your mind tells you that 1 won't hurt, it's a lie. Just 1 cigarette will never be enough, no matter what your mind tells you, for it's the nicotine junkie trying to convince you otherwise. You're stronger than that. Think positive. I know it probably seems somewhat foreign and uncomfortable at this point, but it will get better. I promise. Keep on keepin on.
You really are doing so well.

Hey, AKP!!!

I also had the urges hit me between that 25-30 day mark an also around the 50 day mark!!   I just kept telling myself that my quit is way more important than the urge to smoke!!!  The nico-demon  IS  NOT  going to get the best of me!!!

You are really doing great making it to the 4 week mark and in a couple of days it will be a whole month!!!   CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!   A part of the come back cravings could be the lack of the necessary rewards!!!  At this point in your quit, you really need to give yourself a great reward!!!   YOU  DESERVE  IT!!

I had a rough one yesterday and made it through.  You are doing great.   Remember when you get a crave that it is not as bad as the first of second week and you really don't want to go back there and start over.  Look how far you've come, don't spoil your sucess with a stupid little puff that will put you back to square one.  We don't ever want to go back there again, DO WE???

Your doing great and will continue to do great,  Just say no!!!!

AKP, you are right on target.  There seems to be craves around the "30" day mark.  No worries, they don't last.  The weekend's nearly here, so lay low and treat yourself with kindness.  And post, post, post!  We'll get you through.  Happy weekend!

Cheers,

Jan

HI   AKP    hang on.. one day at a time... i get craves before milestones..  30 50 70 days... little pop up annoying urges...

a crave or urge is not going to kill you...    one day I munched my way thru the kitchen.. (just a bite of this and that)  I figure it is going to be much easier to lose a few lbs.   than it is to grow a new organ... lung, heart, arteries... so hold on.

don't forget to reward to yourslef, and remind yourslef how  great you are doing.. Have your list of why you quit and the benefits you are already feeling handy.

Deep breaths, ice water... it will go away.. some days I have NO craves or even thought of smoking  .... but I am far from confident to let my guard down

Do this one day at a time

Bonnie

Hello everyone
1 more day and I will have 4 weeks! And when you think the hard part is over with the last 2 days has been rough. I kept hearing words in my mind 1 won't hurt every time i heard it i thought about how not smoking has changed me and how much better i feel and i said i am not giving in this time. I know now I should never let my guard down not even for a moment.
I hope everyone will have a safe and a wonderful Memorial day weekend.
