Isn't that weird to experience all those toxins mixing-it-up in your brain as they are forced to leave your body!? That'll end soon enough... I won't say "enjoy 'em" but neither should you be afraid of them - they're a good sign in the early days of the quit... relax with all that... You are not losing touch with reality. You are beginning to live a new reality. Keep marching foward. Perfectly normal you are. Well, I guess that depends on your definition of normal. but you are doing just fine none the less. KEEP GOING!!!!! Hey! Today I feel like a space cadet. Can't concentrate on anything but this site. Cried most of the day yesterday and now just feeling spacey. I am on day 7 and alomost through hell week. But you know with this spacey feeling I don't concentrate on smoking very long either. Take advantage of that. Don't know what tomarrow will bring but just trying to get through today. I am just going to chalk it up to a cheap buzz for the day and take it at that. NOPE!!!!! :) :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/29/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $9.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 12 Seconds: 28

Trooper, This indistinct but annoying symptom is linked with carbon monoxide withdrawal. It gives a sense of being in "another dimension." It can include changes in distance and space perception, a floating feeling, and a total lack of concentration. Remember that carbon monoxide is a deadly poison - it is a good thing to get out of your system. How long will this last? The first few weeks after quitting. Tips to help: Plan your workload to account for your temporary lack of concentration. Avoid additional stress during the first few weeks. If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

Hi Trooper.. the first couple weeks I really felt like I was from outer space... or dropped on my head to hard. Sometimes I would be ok.. and other times... woo hoo... I am 66 days smoke free... I used chantix for about 50 days.. so I wasn't sure if it was quitting, the chantix or a combination.. The last couple days the world and thinking seem to be coming back into focus.. I can take naps and fall asleep faster... I am on some vitamins and supplements.. I saw my Dr Tuesday and he is very happy with the supplements and that I QUIT.. hang in there .. it took awhile for us to get all those toxins in.. will take some time to get them out.. and get our brain chemicals in balance. I will say that the first few months after I quit I was in some sort of daze. Here, but not here. I was tired a lot and very emotional. So, I will say that it is very possible that what you are feeling is normal. BUT, if you have any doubts ask your doctor about it... Has anyone else experienced thoughts that don't make any sense? Just quick little blurbs like wondering where your pink diamond ring is when you don't have a pink diamond ring. Just a little flash of thought that makes you wonder "Where did that come from?" Please tell me it's not that unusual. It's scaring me. These strange thoughts have been popping up now and again for the last few weeks, usually after I've been sleeping or resting.
